I guess I'm in the minority. For some reason I don't think we're going to get Crystal Skull in this new boxed set. I'm probably wrong.
Best films of 2013: Side Effects, 42
Worst films of 2013: Man of Steel, Place Beyond The Pines.

Looking forward to the original trilogy from 1981-1989. I never cared much for KOTCS to own it and would've preferred the series to end after Last Crusade. I love all 3 films in their own way...unlike many others who love to rate them from "best to worst" and say what "TOD was missing that Raiders had." Alot of situations happen in the series that come off silly and unrealistic, but that's the point to the films... to suspend disbelief. Bring on the Indy films.

I've got a feeling there will be two releases once these hit the market, a box set with the 3 original movies and another with all 4... I'm saying that hoping they won't make everyone purchase the 4th film, since its already been out on blu-ray for awhile/alot of people won't even want it.

But they could do the same as they did with the Star Wars box set, the only way you'll get ahold of all the bonus features is if you buy the 'complete' set

I just received my Indy 4 Blu-ray!!!

I think that even if the 4th movie is included in the box-set, the special features will be updated with something else. This is the reason why I gave my Indy Trilogy to my brother, keeping the Bonus disc (so easy as it comes in it's own amaray case) and I'll gladly add the special features of the Indy 4 BD to the new release.

And...

If it's only the trilogy to be released, I'll not have to fight to get my Indy 4 on Blu-ray as I'm sure the prices will increase for that one, on eBay or in stores.

I would love to get these as well. To be totally honest, the first two were the best, The Last Crusade was fair but not up to pair with Raiders. But I agree I'm sure the only way to get any bonus material will be with the box set. Any gueses on prices...my guess will be $59-$69 depending on if there is 4 or 5 movies. Hope there will be a really nice collectable case for this.

Hopefully it's like the Alien or Star Wars sets. 4 Movie Discs and then 2 bonus Discs.

I just really want to see the same Book type packaging for the films as was used on them.
Bat-Mite: "Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but is certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots then the tortured avenger, crying out for mommy and daddy."

Batman: The Brave & The Bold - Legend of the Dark Mite.

Yes, 6 discs could work. 4 for the films, the existing KOTCS bonus disc, and a BD-50 for #6 would allow space for the previous extras and maybe a new HD documentary on the series and hopefully some deleted scenes. Spielberg doesn't typically do commentaries so I'm not holding my breath for one.

Unlike Star Wars, hopefully we see the previous extras carried over, since there really aren't that many. Under 9 hours, IIRC, not including the KOTCS discs. I hope to see the four original docs, including the TOD "making-of", and the extras from the '03 and '08 sets.

The book packaging has grown on me. I wouldn't mind it but I'd probably prefer something like the LOTR EE set or even something like the 2004 Star Wars DVD packaging.

One case for each film but with original movie poster art. Then, one case for the two bonus discs.

I'm betting we won't see any of the extras from the previous KotC release if it's included in the set.

I'm hoping for the most part for all new extras. But the old "Making Of" programs wouldn't hurt to include.

After all, they weren't included on the previous boxset release. So it would be nice to see them here.

I don't know. Some people are speculating on whether KOTCS will be included in the set. I think they should include it and putting its two existing discs would seem like the cheapest, easiest route. Who knows?

I love good special features but outside of a new retrospective doc, deleted scenes, screen tests, and a never-happening commentary, I don't know what else they can give. I'm game for anything new they can come up with though.

My guess is that we'll get 3 of the 4 classic "making of" programs and they'll leave off the TOD "making of" to give me something to complain about throughout the thread. It will be my "From Star Wars to Jedi" of the Indy thread.

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...Ron_Smith/7762

Quote:
HDD: I asked the High-Def Digest staff, “Are there any questions you want me to ask Ron Smith?” The most common one was “When is 'Indiana Jones' going Blu?

Ron Smith: (laughs)

HDD: I'm sure you get that question more often than any other.

Ron Smith: Well, we've actually been working on 'Raiders,' but we're working more on the negative to make theatrical prints for a digital cinema presentation. We are still working on the audio and any discussion of Blu-ray or not Blu-ray includes the other two films – all three films, I guess. Just because we're working on the picture 'Raiders,' it doesn't really mean anything – but we are working on it and we're thrilled about how it's turning out. The Blu-ray will happen whenever the Blu-ray happens, and that's up to Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Lucas and all the people at Paramount that know when the best time is, how to package it and all that stuff. Thankfully, I don't have to deal with that part of it.

HDD: You talk about working on these theatrical prints. Is there a re-release in the works for theaters?

Ron Smith: No. We're trying to make it available for repertoire and preservation. You know, it is its 30 year anniversary, so we had a screening at the Academy a couple months ago. It's very cool. It's a great movie that totally deserves our attention.

Hmmm... I want at least the first three or nothing at all.
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

We're rating the films again? Mine has not changed so here it is again:

And there are actually more practical effects than CG, the nuclear blast was a pyrotechnic using one of the biggest model set ever built. And mostly on location too, the scene outside the warehouse looks like it was shot on a studio stage but it's not.

Again my ratings:

Raiders: 10/10
Doom: 8/10
Crusade: 8/10
Kingdom: 8/10
Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.
