The Tree of Life Blu-ray The Tree of Life Blu-ray Review 20th Century Fox will release the fascinating Terrence Malick film as a Combo pack (BD + DVD) sometime near October 11th. Stay tuned for cover art/Special Features. "GIVE THEM NOTHING! BUT, TAKE FROM THEM... EVERYTHING!"

Why would Warner license it to Criterion instead of keeping all of the profits for themselves? On the other hand, smaller, more obscure, and arthouse films have a better chance with Criterion.

I'm sure Criterion will attempt to release this movie. If they've already released two of his movies, with Badlands in the making, I don't see why they wouldn't be interested. They've already made it clear through several posts and tweets that they loved The Tree of Life anywho.

This is opening near me in a couple of days, but I'm considering just waiting for the blu-ray. Seems like the sort of film best experienced in a quiet, high-end HT rather than a packed movie theater with crummy audio/video.

Loved this film. Saw it twice already in theaters. Would be awesome if Fox released the normal cut in October and then Criterion somehow gets the rights to release the 6 hour cut. God, they would do such an excellent job on it. Tons of features, proper image and audio and probably an awesome case/package!

I think Fox has allowed some of their films into The Criterion Collection, so it wouldn't be unheard of for The Tree of Life. I'd love to see a Criterion Collection version, although if Fox produced a Blu-ray that was at the same quality packaging, features, design, etc.-wise as Sony's Social Network release then I wouldn't be disappointed.
