In addition, we aren't talking Transformers here. We are talking a very small, niche film that lost money theatrically (domestically). Therefore, a little higher price on blu. Without that, films like this eventually die. But hey, whatever works for ya. Last edited by retablo; 10-08-2011 at 09:58 PM. |

wait: so claiming the average Michael Bay fan won't like Tree of Life or saying 20th Century Fox, and Brad Pitt/Sean Penn don't need my money is ignorant? Please prove these points otherwise (we can spend a couple pages debating this uselessly). I put more than my share into current, classic, and foreign cinema (not to mention buying plenty of films from niche distributors....and I don't just mean Criterion or Kino), so I don't really see what I'm missing here. I paid $30 to see this film in a theatre, I will be paying for the blu-ray. Retablo has lectured me about paying full price or whatever multiple times (in multiple threads), I can say what I'd like to him, mommy. I support my favorite filmmakers/musicians/writers/whatever all the time, don't need some guy to lecture me on "supporting artists". I've let bands on tour sleep in my basement for god sakes. whether or not I'm annoying is your opinion, but if you have a problem, ignore my posts or take it up with me in PM, stop polluting the thread with it. Your welcome to contribute to the discourse in a productive way, but your posts here are doing the opposite by pulling the discussion off topic and talking down to other members who challenge what you think. What you are accomplishing is more like thread crapping and less like starting a thoughtful debate. I can see that we have reached an end to this discussion as we have both stated our sides of the issue, so I will just say this for now: "If you cant say something nice, don't say anything at all."

anyone's amazon order shipped? I went ahead and ordered a few hours back and it almost immediately turned to Shipping Soon. My copy of Pulp Fiction shipped last saturday too, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

whats interesting to me is that Sean Penn feels the film would have been better if it had a tighter narrative. now from what is rumored, there is a 6 hour longer cut that focuses much more on the story of the three boys. Perhaps this cut is much closer to the original script Penn fell in love with? do you guys think this movie will ever get an extended cut double dip? or will it be released on the criterion collection along with the theatrical cut?

Then I moved to my college for a second year and their small (POS) "independent theater", with barely a discount, finally showed it, like a week when it's coming out on blu ray, pretty bone headed IMO. I also don't like that attitude about "paying for art" is extremely discouraging, I think we all like to not pay (sacrifice is a more proper term) for many things, but that doesn't mean people that want it cheap are "Booze drinking NASCAR, porn watching degenerate redneck racist" stereotypes. I know alot of morons that are bourgeois types that are not much better, paying for equipment and cars they have no appreciation of. Anyways I'm extremely excited about seeing this film on my projector when it comes out in a few days

! There has only been one movie (can't think of it now) that skipped a little. I'm not sure if it was a scratched disc (it was a rental) or what. Out of the hundreds I've bought and rented, it has played everything great other than that one movie.

It does suck, but it helps it to run much smoother. Another fix would be to delete the installed BD data that's on the BD drive on the PS3, I'm not sure how to do it though although its simple to do (I'm told).
I'm dying waiting for the review to go up.

Guys unplugging my ps3 from the Internet made the movie load right away. So I guess it's cool now.

Go to Video on the XMB menu bar, go to BD Data Utility at the top, and then delete it. I had to disconnect and clear that data last summer trying to get a rental copy of Green Zone to work for me.
