Agree! I don't care that anyone loves bonus content. I just personally never liked knowing how something was done. Like for instance if they said this was how we made x happen, every time I watched the series I'd be thinking of that and it would kinda ruin the experience, but thats just me .

I could be wrong, but I assume you meant the bonus discs like what is being given as a bonus at Wal-Mart, and in that case I completely agree.

When I first started collecting DVDs, I used to track down the best retailer exclusive bonus discs, until I realized that the content on them was almost always crap. All the good bonus features are either A.) already included in the main release, as seems to be the case here, or B.) Being saved for a double-dip release like with Lord of the Rings.

16 minutes of George R.R. Martin describing the lineage of the different houses? No thanks. All the bonus features I care about are already in the set.

The Bonus Disc of the Amazon UK Exclusive set might be more interesting. Is it the only edition which includes the 'Creating The Visuals' Disc?

Exclusive bonus disc: An 18 minute high definition piece regarding ‘creating the visual effects' for the first series. Get a firsthand look at the visual effects used to bring Game of Thrones to HBO, from towering castles and sweeping landscapes, to complex stunts and fight sequences.

pretty sure the person who posted was refering to the value add content not the content in the standard set

most of the time that little extra content has been covered in some way in the general content or like has been mentioned is uploaded to the web

I bought the Stark version. I was at BB twice before deciding. It seemed they had sold 12 copies of the Stark slip and 4 copies of the Dragon one. They didn't have any regular slip ones out.

Mine just showed up today

I'm debating whether or not to watch the 2nd season when it airs and instead wait for it to come out on Blu also.

I really liked being able to watch the entire season (had recorded them all on the PVR) over a weekend. I find doing so drew you into the story much more than if you had a week break between each episode...

Went to Target and they didn't have any Blu-ray copies with their bonus disc left. Checked out the exclusives at Best Buy and thought the regular version was nicer. Now I read there's a Walmart exclusive disc?

Heck you could probably just watch the entire series on youtube at some point(if not already).
Why get A/C in a new car? You can just roll down the windows.
Ditto heat.
Why get a 3-br house when everyone can pile into 1 or 2 bedrooms?
Why even get blu-ray, dvd would suffice.
Why go to the movies, you can wait for said dvd, or PPV, or movie channels, or OTA TV if it comes out on OTA TV.

Like I said the list can go on, but it all depends on what the end user likes.
Especially now with a lot of extras being filmed in HD, it sweetens the "extras" deal even further.

To each their own, I suppose.
Me, personally, I'll take all the extras I can get for my purchase price! All day long!

I was just talking about the bb, walmart, amazon or whatever else "bonus disc" other places are adding. Obviously I want the things that are included in the base release. But for someone to go crazy over a bonus disc that one place will have over the other makes no sense when they will be uploaded on the internet. It's not like they are 2 hour docs its like a 15 min thing which can easily be uploaded.

And plus the comparisons you were making were apples and oranges and for some reason sounded like you got offended.

I WILL BUY ANY SLIP COVERS OF THESE MOVIES!!!! List will always be updated

Not offended at all. Just found it odd that someone wouldn't want any extras. Since you didn't reply directly to someone I thought you were talking about the extras in general, and thought that kind of odd.

Just got back from Best Buy. They only had Targaryen packaging, which was really disappointing. Oh well, I will get Stark some other time.

It's insane how stunning the PQ on these discs is.

This is good to hear. I was able to pick up John Adams for $20, so I only have episode 6 and 7 left before I start Game of Thrones. Glad to hear the PQ is good.

Took a 15 minute drive to a second Target location that had the exclusive Blu-ray version in stock. They didn't even put it in those spider theft prevention devices. Yay!

Default Commentary tracks not working

Anyone having any problem with the commentary tracks? I've tried enabling them with the pop-up menu, they say that they're on, there's no commentary. I've enabled them from the main menu, there is still no commentary track. I ejected the disc, connected to the Internet and still the commentaries don't work. I've only checked on disc 1, thus far, but this is really strange and the first time I've ever had a problem playing a commentary track on laser-disc, DVD or blu-ray.
