![]() Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-ray Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory Blu-ray Review Warner Bros. has announced details surrounding the release of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition. The children's classic, which has already seen a Blu-ray and Blu-ray digibook release, will be get another edition on October 4th to commerorate the film's 1971 release. This set will include two Blu-ray discs for the film and special features and a DVD version. Collectible materials housed in the double-wide box will include a 144-page book featuring color photos and notes, a Wonka Bar pencil tin with scented pencils and eraser and a Wonka Bar box with archival production letters. Purchasing the set also gives the buyer a chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles. The Ultimate Collector's Edition brings over special features from previous releases and adds a couple new ones. These include:

Well the digibook only had one disc, so I'd say 3 discs sounds a bit more extensive. This is Warner's second digibook to be discontinued and re-released in a UCE, and unfortunately I already bought this one. Will I double-dip? Just maybe, 'cause I love this movie.

Think I'll just stick with the digibook edition I have. I read that the audio commentary has the same info as the Pure Imagination book.

And Warner Home Video has officially set Pee-wee's Big Adventure and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - both Tim Burton films - for Blu-ray Disc release on 10/4 (SRP $19.98 each). Pee-wee will include commentary by Paul Reubens and Tim Burton, additional scenes, production sketches and storyboards, a music-only track with commentary by Danny Elfman and the theatrical trailer. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will include an In-Movie Experience viewing option with Tim Burton, audio commentary by Tim Burton, 8 featurettes (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Chocolate Dreams, Different Faces, Different Flavors, Designer Chocolate, Under the Wrapper, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Sweet Sounds, Becoming Oompa-Loompa, Attack of the Squirrels and Fantastic Mr. Dahl), 2 previsualizations (Augustus Gloop dance and Mike Teavee dance), a Dolby TrueHD music-only track, the European club reel and the theatrical trailer.
