Hello all,
I have been setting up my latest score, Onkyo TX-SR707, all day and I must say it is a nice little upgrade from my Denon 790. I like that I have DSX and THX sound fields. Also I can use either front heights or surround backs, depending on the source material and am not limited to one set up. I updated my gallery with a couple of pictures, still need to update the speaker lay out but that will have to wait a while longer. Hopefully I can "find" an open box NR1008 someday and have 9.2

this weekend. First off Dreamworks is no Pixar. They are there for presentation but there stories lag far behind, for me any way. The AQ is really good and the PQ is down right amazing. Humpty's skin, uh shell, uh what ever, is pretty impressive. It is you standard buddy flick scenario rooted in fairy tales. Fairly entertaining and definitely worth the rental. There will will have to be a pretty good sale for it to find a place on my shelf but YMMV.

Unfortunately they are no longer made so you would have to find them used. They were made by The Speaker Company, TSBL fronts and a TC2 center. You can also search for Sapphire speakers as they are essentially the same speakers. Good luck in your search.

last night. It is one beautiful looking and sounding movie. The colors are phenomenal and the sound is enveloping. The train station and clock mechanism sounds in the surround speakers are way cool and crystal clear. It is a wonderful homage to movie making. Just remember to tune out Borat and his foolishness and you will be rewarded. Definitely worth the rental and I would imagine it will have a permanent spot on my shelf when it hits the appropriate price, enjoy.

last night. Fairly good sci-fi flick. It's not a remake of the remake, it is more of a prequel. The PQ is pretty good but where it shines is the AQ . When things, pun intended, are crawling around on the walls and ceiling, it actually sounds like it. Story is entertaining and the performances are up to the task. Definitely worth the rental but will stay that for me, YYMV.
