New York — HBO has acquired the North American broadcast rights to Martin Scorsese's GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, which will debut in two parts — on October 5 and October 6, 2011 — exclusively on HBO.

London — Lionsgate Home Entertainment UK announced that it will be releasing the film in the UK on 10th October 2011 in three editions – DVD, Blu-ray and DVD Double play (DVD/ BD combi pack), and a beautifully packaged DVD / Blu-Ray Deluxe Edition, which includes an exclusive CD of previously unheard tracks from George Harrison, and a book of photography to accompany the film.

Is this a "Region B locked" blu-ray?

The US edition will be released in Spring 2012.

I would like to read a review of the deluxe set, in case anyone has puchased it.

Apparently it will be released not only in the UK, but also in Germany and France.

Okay this has been out on Blu-ray in Europe for a while and still no-one's tested it to see if it will be okay for Region A?

I want to order this tomorrow! lol

Please anyone that knows anything about Region A compatibility please let us know.

Thanks to the Boxing Day deal on Amazon UK, I have just been able to purchase the deluxe edition (Blu-ray/DVD/CD/Book) of "George Harrison - Living In The Material World" for £38.31.

The regular price has always been over £70, so this a bargain.

Yes, I realize that region code is a problem. But the price was very low, I could not miss that opportunity.

Besides, I can play region-2 DVDs. I will watch them while I find a way to watch the region-B blu-ray.

By the way, will the US get that boxed set as well? Or will it just be the BD?

Can you play Region 2 DVDs? If so, you can get the 2-DVD set on Amazon UK and watch it until the Region-A blu-ray is released in the US.

I have no interest in DVD's when there's a possibility I'll be able to watch a Blu-ray version some day. Lossless surround, 1080 resolution, worth waiting for.

I will watch F1 2003 season review on DVD and stuff like that which I know will never see Blu-ray release, and some concerts I have that don't think will ever see Blu-ray...but this one I'm sure we'll get at some point otherwise someone gonna get a hurt real bad.

Whenever possible, I also prefer to watch stuff on BD. I will probably watch the 2-DVD set a few times until a Region-A BD is available, then I'll buy it when the price is right.
