According to the DMCA, you may only make fair use copies of CDs, DVDs, or other media on which no digital copy-protection scheme was used. The DMCA does not extend to analog copy protection systems like Macrovision. Go figure.

And yes, I think it violates precedent established in "Sony vs. Universal" too, but until someone successfully brings a lawsuit challenging this aspect of the DMCA, that's the way it is.
if a law is moronic and the majority of the public disagrees with it, it is our right as Americans to defy it. or at least that used to be the American way...now it seems more like rich people are royalty and the rest of us can suck it.

if they really want to stop this with relation to the F13ths, they should release them the way we've been asking for several decades. if they did, there would be no reason for innocent people that are uninterested in pirating to remove the protection.

My faves (in order):
Parts: 4, 2, 3, 7, 6, 1, 8,

Part V, X and "Jason Goes To Hell" are trash, imo. V is definitely the worst.

True... but if you defy the law you disbelieve in... and lose... then you face the consequences.

A lot of people read that right as coming with some kind of immunity from punishment... but it doesn't.

We are all welcome to stand up and fight against perceived injustice... and if we win, then kudos! But if we lose, then we take the punishment...

The only reason why I haven't bought 1 - 3 on Blu-ray is that I am still hoping for a boxset. Just like I did for Kill Bill but said screw it when both films were dropped down to $8 each.

I agree, I think they did a great job with jason in the 2009 version, which makes it all the more frustrating the follow up still hasnt taken off yet, inspite of the movie being succesfull at the box office.
As much as I wanted a sequel, I'm kind of glad they haven't yet. I wouldn't want a good movie followed up by a soulless cash-in sequel as we saw with Sex & The City & Halloween.

More like Jason Takes A Cruise, which was one of the biggest disappointments in the franchise considering the false advertising / misleading subtitle, UGH!

HDNet Movies showed them in 2009 starting about 2 weeks before the part 1 blu-ray came out and they looked amazing. EPIX and The 3 from EPIX has shown them as well, but part 6 on EPIX didn't have the correct color timing unlike the HDNet Movies version. I bleive Monsters HD played all of them as well when they were around.

I'm going to guess part of the delay is with the extras as the HDNet Movies versions likely come from the masters the blu-rays will use.

How about... Jason on a plane!

Imagine Sam Jackson's famous line and replace "snakes" with Jason...

In all seriousness... I kind of am curious about future-Jason and if we will ever see him again.

Dude, I can't wait for October.
I'm going to unleash hell and buy an obscene amount of horror blu rays.

I bought Night Of The Creeps two months ago. Haven't even popped it in yet. Waiting...waiting. I love October.

I actually don't. I'm just not crazy about the first one due to the mom being the killer (lol spoilers). Anyway, I have it on dvd. I'm fine with that.
