I'd totally get the blu if I didn't already have the SS DVD. Great movie. My personal favorite cannibal movie. Mainly though cause there is no animal torture. That's a big + in my book. Also it has a pretty bad ass smoking chimp in it. Every time I watch this movie I always think that cool ass chimp is a few minutes away from getting to bang Laura Gemser.

The title's no longer showing up on Allegro Music's website, and that's MB's distributor... maybe it means nothing, maybe not. MB only gives news as random Facebook posts these days, so who knows?

Just placed an order for this from Deep Discount, circa $11. Although they list the item as "in stock", there is no artwork posted. Very strange. Even more disturbing, this site lists a Canadian version by Warner??? I would think a Warner edition would be preferable to the SS version, but this whole deal doesn't make a lick of sense. Time will tell, I guess.

Has this been postponed or delayed? It was removed from Allegro’s (Media Blasters distributor) website: http://www.allegro-music.com/label_search.asp?label=SSW. Normally if something is coming soon or delayed they list it as back-ordered, but they removed this title entirely.

Needless to say, I haven't yet received my order from Deep Discount. In fact, now I can't find it on their site anymore. What a surprise.

I would say not likely. Media Blasters is running on fumes these days. They released a handful of Blu-ray discs which nobody seemed to buy for one reason or another. I've got Zombi Holocaust on Blu from them and it looks very good, probably the best it will ever look short of a full restoration (yeah, right). We have become so accustomed (spoiled?) by high quality Blu-rays that whenever something doesn't look shiny and new we automatically dismiss it as garbage. These independent labels don't have the budget to do full-on cleanups of these movies, many of which were poorly produced to begin with.

I'd say any video quality problems are more the result of the Italian video houses, some of which apparently have crt scanners without the proper upkeep necessary for them (different crt scanners can do 8k and beyond scans at crystal clarity, but need the proper maintenance) and uses of dnr and other post processing.
