Nice! Are you picking up the Hitchcock set? I'm really contemplating it, actually. UGH! September is going to be painful financially.

I'm trying to decide between the Hitchcock set and the Bond 50 set . I know I won't be getting both because the responsible part of my brain won't let me (tuition and books).

Oh, crap! That's right! Bond 50, Marvel Phase One and Avengers Sept. 25th, Hitchcock, Cabin in the Woods and Indy on the 18th! Insane month!

I best get to trading!

Just realized the collectors edition of Titanic comes out in September too. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that It will still be available during Black Friday.

Thanks? Not sure if you're thanking me for giving info, or if you mean I'm only stating the good stuff? Regardless, thanks for the kind words, and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask here and I can help you the best I can.

As far as the Titanic set... CAN ANYMORE BIG SETS COME OUT IN SEPTEMBER PLEASE?! Lol. I mean, they just keep piling them on, man! It's crazy! I got my Walking Dead Zombie head paid off for entirely, so I guess I just need to see if the Marvel Cinematic Phase One set is worth it for me.

I faced this decision myself and choose the Bond set, seemed the better value with the book, more movies and a cheaper MSRP.

Thanks to the extra 15% I traded in a bunch of things I'd been waiting for a trade increase for. Quite pleased with the trade value I got. But the real score from the visit came from someone else who was trading in stuff. Two women came in just after I did with a plastic bin that must have had 200+ blu's and DVD's. I noticed a Unforgiven Digibook in the stacks as the Moviestop employee was going through all of them and asked the worker processing my trades how long it would take them to process and then sell it to me and he scanned it told me they would give the girls $9 credit for it and that I should just buy it from her, that they had done this a few times before. I then noticed two other digibooks on the pile Deliverance & Chariots of Fire. So when my trades were finished I went over to the two girls and told them I was interested in buying the digibooks she was trading in she, asked me which ones were digibooks and after some talking between me and them and they and the Moviestop guy who told them he couldn't accept the other two digibooks from her she told me to give her $1 each for them and she'd be happy. Me being ecstatic about the price handed her $10 and told her that I'd feel bad paying her any less, she then offered me all the DVD's & Blu's that were left in the bin that Moviestop wouldn't accept from her. I think she trades in in such bulk that she had traded these titles in before or something. So anyway for $10 I ended up with

The Delta Force - Blu
From Dusk To Dawn collection/Full Tilt Boogie - Blu
Get The Gringo (doesn't release for sale til Tuesday) - Blu
Alien Armageddon - Blu
Deliverance - Digibook
Chariots of Fire - Digibook
Unforgiven - Digibook
Water for Elephants - DVD
Garfield two pack - DVD
City Slickers - DVD
Star Trk VIII - DVD
Friends with Kids - DVD
We Bought a Zoo - DVD
and 7 other DVD's that will soon be headed to Best Buy.

With what I traded I got The Sting Digibook, 4 trade 2's & $110 on Bond 50. Man great visit to Moviestop today.

Odd that they didn't take trades on some of those titles. We do exercise a general rule in trade that if someone is going to trade a new release title (within 4 weeks of release) for cash credit without a receipt of proof of purchase, to make a judgement call on whether to take it in or not.

Also, with the Walmart exclusives, anything not in the system that is a Blu-ray disc (disc only or a retailer exclusive), we generally take it in as a disc-only Blu-ray that would net them about a buck credit, and would sell for $3.99 used.

Regardless, sounds like you made out with a deal of a lifetime, netting all those Blu-rays, blu-ray digibooks and DVDs for $10!!!

Can anyone provide some options for titles that are $4.99 at Best Buy right now with the U&S that would work for the trade 2 deal?

I wouldn't mind picking up about 8-10 $4.99 Blu's at Best Buy and then have 4-5 new releases reserved at MovieStop for $10 each (2 titles per new release).

Thanks!

For those planning on upgrading to the new Bond 50 Box set, I was able to trade in all my Bond Blu-Rays today at MovieStop. All except The World is Not Enough qualified for Trade 2 for 1 new release.

Mission Impossible movies and Alien movies also qualified (previously picked up Alien Anthology for $24.99 and MI Trilogy for $4.99, so traded in the individual movies I had).

Overall today I was able to trade in 18 blurays for 9 new releases as well as some DVDs which gave me another $136.00 in credit

The guy processing her trades did say something about the new releases she traded, that she had a few he accepted but he wouldn't be able to do that anymore. And yeah she trades in for cash, she walked out that day with around $250. So I'm guessing that's why I lucked out on some of those recent release DVD's and blu's, two of which I traded in today (Get the Gringo Blu & We Bought a Zoo DVD) for $20.

When I stopped in today the guy told me I actually got a better deal then I should have on my trades that day, that he didn't realize that the extra 25% was added in automatically and he gave me another extra 25% on my trades which explains some of the crazy high trade in values I got. One thing I traded on Friday and had my girlfriend trade in a copy tonight, traded on Friday for $31.25 and today only netted $9.38.

I'm proceeding with putting all my credit towards expensive box sets and now have around $100 on Bond 50, $70 on Walking Dead season 2 special edition, $70 on Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 1 (gonna trade in the originals to finish paying that off in the next week or two), $50 on Indiana Jones & 25 on the upcoming Blade Runner box & another $25 on the Blade Runner Digibook. I really love Moviestop, I'd never be able to afford all these expensive sets but being able to pay for them in movies bought on the cheap and ones that I got via trade 2 which increases the value of the original trades is so very awesome.

I think it's like August 2nd or something. The person who took my trades in told me, but I can't remember what she said

so the trade bonus is still taking place as of now?? Usually the deals are only for the weekend but i did notice that the text said for a limited time only instead of an actualy end date...this would be awesome news because I finally did the Buy one get one today but what I got was 2 Star Wars Collection sets. Now I know your like 2!?! why do you need two? Well my point was i could not find anyhting else that had that 69.99 value to it. Thought about Eastwood collection or dexter season 4 but overall could not find anything that had a high dollar value like the star wars collection. Funny thing is, they had two used copies so I just got both of them and figured I could trade one copy back in for a fairly decent amount of trade in credit. Since I paid for it with trade-in credit already on-top of the $7.00 off I got from being a member...it looks like regardless I made out for once when it comes to deals. And if the trad ein bonus is STILL taking place then Im certainly going to another moviestop to trade a stra wars collection in..
Looking for the following slipcovers:
Gamer (France)
Madagarscar 1 and 2 (Target Exclusive)
Take Me Home Tonight
I Saw the Devil (UK)
Friends With Kids (Target or Canadian)

Looks like it is still going on. I was under the impression it ended Sunday, but I see new release DVDs get $15 instead of $12, so that's 25% extra, not 10%. Maybe it is August 2nd; didn't e-mail DM to ask, but it was probably in an e-mail that came in on my day off.

Definitely a YMMV thing for others. Good thing your store still does it, though. Mine stopped doing this promotion just last week.

The extra 25% helped me clear out a lot of my older Blus. Did a trade 2 on:

-Lorax 3D
-Jaws
-Hunger Games
-Dictator
-Battleship
-Five-Year Engagement
-Safe
-Snow White
-Cabin in the Woods
-Avengers 3D
-Cinderella
-Raven
-Prometheus 3D
-Magic Mike
-Abe Lincoln

I didn't even want to get half of those, but the trade 2 is too awesome to pass up. Thanks for keeping the thread updated, K i r a.
