Do you think we will end up with a good release, quality-wise? Do they have a track record with other releases?
Sight-unseen, I ended up ordering the Vlacil SDVD Box Set (before seeing this thread) after reading some background on these films. Just excited to see them in any format.

I finished the R2 Second Run DVD last night and...wow. This is what filmmaking should be. I initially planned to watch another disc afterwards, but I had to sleep on this one. It just keeps spinning through your head. Just my opinion, but this film sits along side Andrei Rublev.
As posted over at Criterion Forum, a link to the restoration...the HD screencaps look very nice. http://www.nostalghia.cz/webs/vlacil...y/digimarketa/

Ahhh, new member...I think the mods review the post before it hits the thread, thus the lag time, although the original time shows.

From...http://www.nostalghia.cz/webs/vlacil/index08.php
Translated from Bing... 21 October 2011. With the impending deadline Edition Markety Markéta on DVD and BD is beginning to acquire a more specific outline specifications of this edition. At this point is confirmed, it will be a dvoudiskový pack, either version 2 x DVD or BD + DVD. Your film will be on the first disk drive (DVD or BD), the second DVD drive will be reserved for the bonus. Among those will be the document of Franz Uldricha in network time (1989), "comes-historic" interview with Zdenou kapovou, interview with art historian Prof. Jan Roytem and interview with Ivo Marákem on digital restaurant film. Total should be about 50 minutes of film materials. Furthermore, extensive photo gallery will be on the disk, supposedly containing approximately 100 photos (I don't know if only from the film and the filming or even of the samples that Vláčilova scenario) and text filmography and biography of artists and acting leaders. Yet it is not clear if they are among the bonus tracks included two of the surviving version of the trailer of the time. I will be accompanied by a booklet. -On the facebookovské page of the film appeared in the photo gallery from the official distribution premiere in Prague Světozoru 12. October 2011. Looks like we're getting bonus features...hopefully they too will have English subs.
