I saw this in a theater with my wife. I found it painful to watch and the 3D was very, very bad. It wasn't funny nor interesting.

So I assume this is NOT the cover for the 4-disc release? Or will it be released as a 4-disc or not? This one seems to be only 1 disc.

I realize the second link is from the USA but it's listed as a 3-disc on that link there & not a 4-disc as was mentioned in the first post of this topic so I'm confused as to whether it will actually be released as a 4-disc or 3-disc.

It also seems odd that the UK link has it listed as only 1-disc if the USA has at least 3-discs or possibly 4 (if the first post of this topic is correct).

The UK has gotten different release formats in the past (Alice in Wonderland: UK 2 disc 3D/regular blu vs. US 4 disc 3D/2D/DVD/DC, for example). The amazon US listing for Gnomeo does mention 3d/2D/DVD/DC, so "Three-disc combo" may be a typo.

Well hopefully it's just a typo (although the spelling of three and two are not the same) so I'm a bit skeptical only because this movie was released through Touchstone pictures (like Step Up 3D which also only had 3-discs) instead of Walt Disney pictures (like Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland, Tangled, etc. which all have 4-discs) even though I know Touchstone is owned by Disney, so I'm thinking either:

1. It's just 3-discs with the fourth being the digitial copy available for download only, or
2. Both the DVD & Digital Copy are on 1-disc (i.e. Yogi Bear & Step Up 3D are listed as having Blu-ray 3D+Blu-ray+DVD+Digital Copy but both have the DVD & Digital Copy together on 1-disc rather than on 2 separate discs.

The trailer didn't make this one look very good. So Jbug's review doesn't really surprise me.

Not sure if I'm going to pick this one up.

So who do we believe ?, so your like saying the 3D is like a 1 or less(3D was very, very bad), the review gave it a 5 for video and said:

Never does the transfer fail to take advantage, making this one of the finest releases available for Blu-ray 3D reference purposes.

Gnomeo & Juliet arrives on Blu-ray 3D with a dazzling 1080p, 1.85:1-framed transfer. This is what Blu-ray 3D is all about; there's not much in the way of gimmicky effects shots, but the sense of natural depth, spacing, and size is magnificent.

I have a similar issue with Resident Evil Afterlife. Not THAT good really ... there is better.

Yeh its strange how reviews can be so different, example: Highdef says Afterlife is better than Avatar this site says not even good, strange.

Hope some reviewers don't have some kind of 'financial' loyalty with the distributors!

No way is Afterlife anywhere near Avatar. That would be mental to suggest.

They also said The Best 3D Disc Yet bless!

The Video: Sizing Up the Picture

The Full HD 3D version of 'Resident Evil: Afterlife' is, in my opinion, the best looking Blu-ray 3D release available, either on shelves or in bundle sets. 'Avatar,' good as it looks, just cannot compare to the technical prowess and constant 3D utilization that this film boasts from start to finish.
