Do you know what happened to Charles George Hildebrandt? According to imdb this was his only film.

Even with the modern technology it's hard to remove grain and scratches...unless you want to spend a small fortune. lol...eventually someone will make a $50 million dollar remake!
What Ted's saying isn't exactly accurate. We absolutely wanted to do a Blu-ray of THE DEADLY SPAWN, but our license had expired and Ted gave the title to Elite, totally unbeknownst to us. Then, after we spoke to Ted about it, he said he didn't think we would be interested in doing a Blu and that's why he gave it to Elite.

Wow, this title is so popular that the first charge is already sold out.

That's actually a good sign. Amazon has probably been notified that stock is in route and they might have it within the next few days.

Hi Don.
That is not true. I spoke to Jerry WAY before the license expired about reupping. He said the title didn't do that well and we couldn't make a deal. THEN I starting talking to a number of different companies. I even tried to call you to talk about it and left messages, phone & email. ---Ted

To answer one of the other questions. Yes, Deadly Spawn (Blu-Ray) has sold out on a few sites including Amazon and Helf.com. More are on the way and shipped out today.

Is the phone call you speak of the one where you were disguising your voice? I remember that now, but I'm not aware of ANY conversations you had with Jerry about the Blu-ray. I'll let him respond after showing him this thread.

Ah, so it's out. :o Thought maybe it missed release or something. Hope it's not a title that'll have a small print run and then disappear. ;) Forgive me for being skeptical, but I'm waiting on some reviews and screencaps before I upgrade from the DVD.

This appears to be out of stock everywhere. I cant find one store with it in stock. Are you sure retailers received copies yet?

This thread is getting very interesting haha. I'm very happy with the DVD from synapse but will upgrade if it's an improvement. Definitely going to wait until someone actually gets their hands on the disc though.....

First off, this isnt available on ANY website.....second, the "producer" is selling a copy on ebay for like $50

To the producer, why did you go with Elite Entertainment?? I didn't even know they existed anymore...they were releasing DVD's in the late 90's.....Anchor Bay and Synapse re-released most of their catalog

Synapse should have released this title, if for NO OTHER REASON than having better cover art.

I think the Elite cover art is badass, but I'd have preferred Synapse simply because their transfers are usually fantastic and they're definitely the best horror Blu-ray label. Hopefully Elite and co. delivered a good transfer for this release.

I'm doubting that it actually was released yesterday considering it's unavailable everywhere... I can't see that happening unless only five copies were sent out to each retailer. :S You sure something isn't going on on Elite's end, Mr. Bohus?

I got an email from Amazon saying that I should receive it on Feb 13-14, so they're expecting to ship it within the next few days. We'll see....

I just spoke with my business partner Jerry, and here's what he had to say.

"Ted, you're lying. I have the email chain to prove it. You wanted another advance from us and you turned around and gave it to Elite for no advance when I refused another payment. If you continue to lie, I will put up the entire email chain for everybody to read. At no time, during our discussions did a Blu-ray release ever come up, but of course we would have done one, and were actually planning it.

In the meantime, I have no axe to grind with you. The movie is yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. We have moved on, and we don't really care at all. We are very busy, and we don't have time for this nonsense.

All we ask, is that if you're going to answer a question that somebody asks you, and it involves Synapse, please don't lie. Either don't respond, or tell the truth. Personally, I will not be responding to any more of your posts."
