Re-Animator Blu-ray Review

Barbara Crampton joined Twitter recently. (Although she's not verified, several of my press friends talk to and have interviewed her in person, so it's definitely her.) She's very responsive, so I asked her about Re-Animator. Today, she got back to me:

Good news if it pans out. And hopefully it's Anchor Bay if so. I'd happily buy both the first and second films.

I saw this on DVDTalk, and I'll say the same thing I said there.

As much as I love this movie and want to see a great Blu-Ray, I am a bit hesitant about it. If Anchor Bay is still working on it, then I'll be looking forward to it. If it's one of the titles that Image obtained, based on what we're seeing with The Hills Have Eyes and Hellraiser II, I won't be too enthused.

Day frickin' 1 if this comes to fruition. One of those flicks I can watch over and over again and still enjoy.

I'll never forget the once scene toward the end and my reaction to it.

I don't think I really need to explain what scene i'm talking about, gents.

It is very possible Image got their mitts on it to release, which would not be a positive development if you read some of the reviews for their recent horror BDs.

It's also possible Lionsgate got ahold of this, like with Evil Dead 2. Gotta stay positive, man.

It's not a New World title, it's Empire Pictures. So it's not with Image.

Killer movie. Hope it's given as good a BD release as it got as a Millennium Edition DVD. Doubt it, but I'm hopeful.

Rob Zombie's Halloween 2: Proof that any steaming pile can have fans, no matter how horrible it is. I blind-buy ALOT.
