Lionsgate Films will release Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas: The Play on Blu-ray this November. A newly filmed version of Perry's live stage show, this holiday special tells the story of the wealthy Mansell family, whose dysfunctions threaten to ruin Christmas until sassy grandmother Madea (Tyler Perry, Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail) arrives to straighten the family out. The film also features performances from Cheryl Pepsii Riley (Madea's Big Happy Family), Chandra Currelley-Young (Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman), and Cassi Davis (TV's "House of Payne").

While the technical specifications for Lionsgate's Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, early reports suggest the 152-minute-long play will be presented in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The disc will also feature a number of supplements, including:
