I got to the end of FFX but never quite finished it so this is the kick I need to re-play and finish it.

Hopefully they put some effort in and at least redraw the 2D graphics, use the high quality cutscene models all the time and make characters drop realtime shadows everywhere instead of those few special battles.

Yikes! I forgot all about the cutscenes. This game used FMVs extensively and from past HD remasters, those parts have looked the worse as there isnt much done. The FMVs in GoW looked blurry and stretched out. I fear the same will happen here. I really hope they address that bc the cutscenes are such a big part of hte game and storytelling

Hopefully Square kept all the FMV assets or were forward thinking enough to render HD versions at the time.

Untouched they shouldn't look so bad at PS Vita size but blown up on an HDTV you'd want a rerendering like God of War Origins Collection.

The last good FF game. I can't wait. This game was really good. I just wish Squaresoft would quit ****ing around and remake FF7 already!

I don't want S-E remaking FFVII-IX until they've proved they're capable of doing it superbly.

High levels/max level doesn't matter. The Aurochs are awful.

About the only notable thing about the Aurochs at max level is that the goalkeeper has a 99 shoot, for some inexplicable reason. He still sucks because the rest of his stats are awful, and his catch is so low he's one of the worst goalies in the game.

Meanwhile, every single member of the Kilika Beasts except for the goalie is in the conversation for best player at their position at level 99, and their goalie is a clear 2nd since only one stat matters for the goalie.

I really think you mentally swapped the Kilika Beasts for Besaid Aurochs in your thinking, because they aren't all that great _until_ high level, and by max level they are insane.

Like I already said, it's sad that I remember this stuff as well as I do.

I've played enough Blitzball to get my team to level 99, on two separate save files!

And I'm sure I'll play it a bunch too on the FFX remake, assuming it comes out here/on a disc in english I can import.

I can't remember right now who my team is but it's a high-scoring offense with a defense that's hard to muscle through. Between Brother, Tidus and Wakka, I have 3 guys that can score more than once per game, granted they're not the best defenders. What's the best team you guys have had?
RIP Navster, you were someone I considered a friend and BD.com will always remember you.

This will apparently be an actual remake. http://techdeville.com/2011/09/23/fi...proper-remake/

Which is a nice change for the PS3 HD stuff, if true.

Yuna and Lulu should look really nice in HD, even if you disagree. Maester Seymour should be even creepier in HD, though.

FFX played with the FF13 engine would be incredible. FFX was my favorite FF game. Can't wait to see Shiva's summon animation

I really hope they add some new stuff as well. The one thing I wish some of these HD transfers to PS3 did was include new items/weapons/levels etc. They could have an option to either play the unaltered standard cut and the modified HD cut at the menu for the people that don't want an altered version. Similar to how a movie will sometimes give you the option to play the theatrical cut or unrated cut.

I say they just make the new stuff unlockable options so they just really make it pretty much the same but add a few new things. Would even like seeing a couple changes to blitzball, even if it is my favourite all-time mini-game.

I think I'd like to pick this up now, FF13 was the first FF game I've played (or at least I think so), then I downloaded VII off PSN. Waiting for a long time for Versus though, which I'll definitely pick up when that's out. If this truly is an actual remake, then I'd definitely get it.

I was just thinking: the PS Vita might be the way to go for this game, due to Sleep Mode. I don't have as much time as I used to to just sit around and play games for hours on end, so it would be great to just play a bit every once in a while and then temporarily shut down without losing any progress or having to find the next save point.

I'll stick with the PS3 version, for the main reason that I won't be getting Vita, only own the home consoles, not the portables. So, I'm looking forward to FFX HD on PS3

Im kinda s uprised to see this over 7, but I love both games equally. They are probably my fav 2 games, top 5 all time for sure. Maybe they will see how this goes to gauge a 7 remake. It might also be easier to remake x instead of 7 because 10 looked much better.
