So far, Fright Night is the only must have for me. Hopefully, they'll be releasing some other stuff from the '80s or newer.

They've only announced a few titles but I see 2 (Fright Night and Mysterious Island) that I will get, and 1 (Roots of Heaven) more possible already. I'm interested to see what's coming after these, as I'm a big Harryhausen fan.

PICNIC will be a nice release, I know many have a hard time just tracking down the DVD edition that contains the WS version. SONY ended up releasing a pan/scan only DVD version which seems to be the most available version out there.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

There is a Anamorphic transfer in the Kim Novak set. But I am with you that a Blu ray release will look great.

Nice to be able to add a non-genre film (Picnic) to my already existing plans to grab Mysterious Island and Fright Night Picnic has been one of my most desired 'catalogue' titles to get a HD release.

I will definitely be buying Fright Night, Rapture, and Picnic when they are released. I wish they or Columbia themselves would release Autumn Leaves (1956) on Bluray.

I'll get Mysterious island and Fright night, which we already knew about.

Nice to get this peek at Twilight's schedule. So they've finally started mixing up the Fox and Columbia movies (Rapture and The roots of heaven are Fox titles). But very unfortunately, not ones I'm interested in (neither is Picnic). So I'll wait for February...

Wow, Rapture is a title that I've wanted for a long time, never released on DVD as far as I know, so I'll be getting this one, $$ be damned. Is this their first B&W release?

On blu-ray yes, it's their first B&W release (but not on dvd).

**EDIT** The First Nudie Musical is not a Twilight release. It appeared to be because it was listed on there site as a new twilight preorder.

Strange it is not listed on their 'official list' and no word about it on their websites news section.
And that seems to be the one to get! I pre-ordered this one. It looks pretty funny with catchy songs.

To be clear, Nudie is not a Twilight Time release, although it has a Twilight Time connection in Nick Redman, who directed the retrospective documentary included on the Blu-ray - he also participates in the commentary tracks. The Blu is being released on the Kritzerland label (a CD label - this is its first but not last Blu) http://www.kritzerland.com

And for those interested the first 100 copies ordered directly from Kritzerland will be signed by Cindy Williams and Bruce Kimmel.

It does? I didn't see anything about it on there. I wonder if I have the right FB...it's the Screen Archives FB right?

NVM found it!

Default Sony Pictures deal

Over at the bits, in Barrie Maxwell's column, there's an interesting paragraph about Twilight Time's future plans for hi-def...note not only the title but the terms (if you didn't already know)...

Quote:
Twilight Time has Inferno (1953, Robert Ryan) in its plans for an eventual release. There's no date set as yet, however. More concrete Twilight Time news, however, comes in the form of the announcement that the specialty label has struck a deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to license and release classic films from the Sony-owned Columbia Pictures library in high-definition Blu-ray editions. In line with Twilight Time's innovative limited series concept, just 3000 units of each title will be produced, aimed at the collector/classic film aficionado market, and available exclusively online through http://www.screenarchives.com, the largest U.S. independent distributor of specialty soundtracks. The November 8th Blu-ray debut of director Cy Enfield's and special effects master Ray Harryhausen's 1961 science fiction/fantasy classic, Mysterious Island, will be followed by a new release on the first Tuesday of each month. Some of the other titles planned for the near future (through the early part of 2012) are Picnic, Bell Book and Candle, Pal Joey, Bite the Bullet, Major Dundee, and The Big Heat. Meanwhile, in the label's regular series of Fox DVD releases on the second Tuesday of the month, My Cousin Rachel (1952, Olivia De Havilland) was released on September 13th and Stagecoach (1966, Bing Crosby) is planned for October 11th. In the pipeline also are The Left Hand of God (1955, Humphrey Bogart) and Rapture (1965, Dean Stockwell).
Getting ready to pay 35 bucks for The Big Heat...ouch.
US/UK films that need to be on blu-ray:Foreign Correspondent (1940, Hitchcock), The Wicker Man (1973, Hardy), Thunderheart (1992, Apted) , Lone Star (1996, Sayles)

Foreign films that need to be on blu-ray:
Raise The Red Lantern (1991, Zhang), The Best of Youth (2003, Giordana), Still Life (2006, Jia), 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007, Mungiu)

Nice, Mysterious Island for me and possibly a few others. Very happy with The Egyption release a few months back so I'm looking forward to this.
Lloyd C. Cramden: Flint, How do you find time to read all these books?
Derek Flint: No, no, no, sir, I wrote those.
