CeX is now open in Pune! It's one of the best used blu-ray/dvd/electronics store popular in the UK, USA, and other parts of the Europe. Soon more stores will open in other cities such as Banglore, Vashi and Mumbai.

I don't know what the India prices are like, but the stores in USA, UK, and Europe are cheap...as...hell! For everything too. It's one of the best stores ever. Most of my mainstream blu-rays were purchased from this store. And they also give the best prices or trade-in-credit if you want to sell/trade in your DVDs, blu-rays, phones, and other electronics back to them.

Hi,
I went to the CEX Store in Pune. It seems, since they have opened newly, they do not have much stock as of now. Games section was good. Movies section still needs to get stocked more. Apart from 1 Marathi film DVD and 4-5 Hindi film DVD, all others were of English movies. As of now, no new items were stocked. As far as prices for second hand items are concerned, they seemed to be ok. Like for "Casino Royale" Blu Ray, which is available for 1299/- INR MRP, on Sony Pictures label, and at 1069/- INR from Flipkart (after discount), it was available for 800/- INR for second hand item which was UK edition. All the products were from UK (as told by store manager). I hope, their stock will grow on. Last edited by MovieMania; 11-13-2011 at 02:06 AM. |

Thanks for reverting on the price. 800~1200 INR is way too high in my opinion for these movies and its frustrating that retailers are still ripping off customers sucking the blood out of them.
I never buy Blu-rays from CEX as I found online prices here in the UK to be competitive. Its simply unbeatable especially the boxsets and at times even better than the US. A friend of mine who recently visited the UK was able to purchase 150 Blu-rays in 3 months when it would have taken at least a year or two to purchase them back in India not due to just pricing but due to the earning potential. Thanks a ton to toddly666. I paid a visit to this store myself today. The only great thing is that u already said- really good deals on trading your old dvds and BDs otherwise many movies are still priced on the higher side. No hindi blu rays btw. Max 100 Blu rays of English. They have around 20'ish BDs of inception (UK) at 1000 INR. All i cud see for hindi were 4 recent dvds. their website is webuy.com .After buying/trading a disc if u still wanna trade them again, it will still be ateast 75% of what u got for from CEX. I think i will soon trade some of my unused discs there for some BD titles.

If you want a good selection of used blurays in your CeX stores, it's up to the Indian population to make that happen, not the store. They have 50 copies of an Inception bluray just to put something on the shelf. It wouldnt look good to have an empty bluray shelf section? Would it? This is why you see expensive Hollywood blurays up there. CeX sells stuff that people trades in - that's their business. |

Most Bollywood DVD's are so cheap brand new that it wouldn't give the store a significant margin to sell them used so I doubt you'd see a huge Bollywood DVD presence. It's interesting if they're selling movies from the UK because in general, stores are not allowed to sell DVD's/BD's that don't bear the Indian censor board certificate. What if someone traded in foreign made DVD's of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, which is banned in India, or uncensored copies of the Exorcist or the Entity?
More likely they'll be trading used console games and gadgets - phones, consoles, home elctronics etc |

And if Bollywood DVDs are so cheap - for example, if a new Bollywood dvd sells for 7 dollars - a person will be able to find that new movie for sale at CeX for 4-5 dollars. This is what they do. But yeah, they don't get most of their profit from DVDs and blu-rays - they get it from used phones. |
