CONFIRMATION

I've got confirmation about Disney's releases about this and next year!!!!. I asked the Disney representative in Greece about the imminent release of BatB: EC and she said that Disney does not plan to release it over here BUT that if I am interested in other Classic Disney movies on BD, the following are set to be released:

are you ready??

Quote:
- The Lion King ( November 21th) [ we knew that ]

- Lady and the Tramp (February 2012)

- Pocahontas 1 & 2 (should be released until June 2012)

- Tarzan (should be released until June 2012)

Are you serious?! This is great news! Tarzan will be STUNNING on Blu-Ray!

(But in regards to Pocahontas II, I will definitely let that disc rot in the case for eternity if Pocahontas is just released as a double-feature like Fox and the Hound. I will never, NEVER destroy my childhood by ruining Pocahontas with that disgrace. Screw historical accuracy.)
I buy Disney DVDs and Blu-Ray, message me if you're selling! :)

Might as well start a seperate thread for Tarzan.

Tarzan's a good movie, but I just couldn't stand the sidekick characters in this one.

Same with me, particularly the Rosie O'Donnell gorilla grinds my gears.

I believe that's the general idea (er, releasing them, that is)--
Fox was a "safe" experiment to see if they could clean up all those safe non-Platinum titles with their vidquels to save time, and for good or bad, it seems to have worked.
They didn't plan to do the same thing with the Platinum-derived Lion King II or Belle's Christmas, since the Diamond-title offspring have enough sales potential to stand on their own...But they seem to be cutting the "poor" non-Platinum 90's titles a little slack if they can kill two birds (one severely wounded) with one stone.

I'd expect we see Tarzan, Mulan, Brother Bear and Lilo marketed with their official sequels (ie. L&S2:Glitch and Tarzan II, not their TV-pilot spinoffs) very shortly, to fill the months between Diamond slots--
That is, if Zorba the Greek is actually telling the truth, and it's not that twelve-thread foreign Disney-trolling idiot back again.

I find this offensive. I've been in these fora for far too long to be considered a troll and i don't think that my posts have anything troll-ish about them. I can forward you the emails if you want, though you won't get a word of it. Plus, you can check the distribution company and even ask them for yourself. It's called Feelgood entertainment.

Jeez, I actually posted this in every thread i could so that most people would see it and this is the response I get. Thanks!

UPDATE

and we already knew these releases were coming (besides Tarzan). I just gave you the release window for each one.

(Well, that's what made us suspicious--
A month ago, some foreign troll tried some deliberately made-up "Disney's going to release every movie!" schedule to get attention and see who he could sucker, and liked his one lame joke so much that he posted it twelve times in one day, on every imaginable tied-in variation thread.
He was kicked off the board by the end of the day, but for an overseas poster to suddenly show up with new Disney release "scoops", and post it several times on every imaginable tied-in thread, we got a little...over-cautious.
...Word to the wise about getting overenthusiastic with posting rumors.)

First of all, I did not post rumors. I posted facts. Am I the only one who has gained some info from a distribution company? I don't think so.
I remember the guy you are referring to, I actually think you replied to him. He had posted a completely out-of-the-blue release schedule and if I remember correctly his account had just been created. And then you have me, a guy who comes every day in here, shares his opinions, trades with members of the fora, helps them and asks for help, organises his BD collection and has been a member of the forum for at least 2 years. So, at least do some thinking and get your facts straight before you call me (or imply I am) a troll.

my only guess? mexico. they're the only ones where a flyer has been flying around. but i still doubt that, the US AND Europe are getting this in february (only Denmark will get it in march), it would be bad marketing to release it this close to a Diamond release.

Even at that, wouldn't we be getting cover art for it by now if it was coming out in ANY country?

Thanks man. I'm looking forward to Pocahontas especially and the sequel is actually not that bad. I had it on DVD for years but sold it last year when I reduced my DVD collection.

I didn't like the sequel as much i feel that it kind of wrecked the movie, if they were going to wreck accurate history couldn't they just have continued with it and kept her with smith? XD
