Default Disney Vault - What's getting vaulted in early 2013?

So what's planned to head back into the Disney Vault in early 2012?

The only one that comes to mind is Beauty and the Beast and its sequels which are coming out closer to Christmas time. Anyony know for sure? Anything else planned to go back in?

Anytime I think of the vault, that SNL sketch pops into my head...

Lady in the Tramp comes out in Feburary and a couple months ago I heard 101 Dalmatians was a suppose to come out all later in the year.

Those are titles that are coming out not being put back in the vault.

Beauty and the Beast + its sequels, and Bambi + its sequel sound about right.

That's a very good question. We need to see this released soon. I'm tired of waiting.

Forget Aladdin. I heard Disney shelved it because it was too controversial in its portrayal of Muslims. Glad I held on to my Platinum Edition DVD.

That's old hat. More likely because sales for the Platinum weren't exactly what the studio had hoped and, I'll be honest, I think being released a year after 9/11 may have played a role. Not saying it was the true culprit but I've always believed it could have played a part.

DMC confirms BatB, Bambi and their STV sequels are headed for the Vault (advertised as "Disappearing Classics"), but doesn't give a date. Until last year the date was generally 1/31, but last year it was 4/30. Since BatB 3D hits theaters in January (making it disingenuous to pull the BD3D only days later), and 1/31 would give Bambi only 11 months in release (among DACs on BD only F/F2K was out less than a full year), expect the Vault date to be delayed to 4/30 again this year.

(Edit: I believe the 2012 rumors for Aladdin are more likely; Jasmine has *NOT* been retired from the Disney Princess lineup, so I don't believe the Muslim-controversy story for a minute. LatT is still coming out as a Diamond title; if this year's any indication it and TLK will go back in the Vault in April 2013. They've already announced Cinderella as the fall-2012 Diamond title, so unless they're pulling 101 Dalmatians from the Diamond lineup it will *NOT* arrive this coming year; as a Diamond title it's not scheduled to hit BD till 2014. The *only* significant variation so far from the Diamond schedule in the 2009 Snow White announcement was F/F2K.)
BD players: PS3 Slim 250GB; Sherwood BDP-5004 (region-free); HP P7-1010 w/ LG WH12LS38K, AMD HD 6570, TMT 3, 5 & 6, PDVD 11, Nero 11
A/V hardware: Vizio E3D320VX 3DTV; Sony HT-SS380; Vizio Co-Star (Google TV); Radiient HDMI switch (PC also has Hanns-G HL227 & Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers)

April 30, 2012 this is getting vaulted:

Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edtion Blu-Ray
Beauty and the Beast 3D Diamond Edition Blu-Ray
Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition DVD packaging
Beauty and the Beast 2-Disc DVD
Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas Blu-Ray Combo
Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas Combo in DVD packaging
Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas DVD
Beauty and the Beast Belle's Magical World DVD
Bambi Diamond Edition Blu-Ray
Bambi Diamond Edition DVD Packaging
Bambi 2-Disc DVD
Bambi II Blu-Ray Combo
Bambi II Combo DVD Packaging
Bambi II DVD Edition

Like people are saying over at DVDizzy forums, this may very well be the last time these movies are available on physical media format, with Disney rolling out their Disney Studio All Access.

I've got BatB Diamond Edtion already, but I don't have the 3D edition or the sequels. And I don't have Bambi II either. Wonder if they're worth getting?

Enchanted Christmas is a solid Christmas movie with a lacking villain but it was decent. I'll get it soon since it's going to be vaulted, hopefully for $15-.

With the run-up to Christmas, I think I'll get it ASAP. I'm not too keen on the sequels but what the hay. Definitely want to pick-up BatB 3D (already have the non 3D Diamond Edition). I hate the vault concept, but like others have said, this might be the last time these are on physical formats. Wonder if it's worth getting a couple extra copies, then reselling...

Looks like I better order Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas soon. I've been avoiding it because of it's $20+ price tag.

Default Do Disney "Vault" BRs ever get re-released?

Sorry to bump such an old thread! I've seen plenty of discussion in various threads about what's going into the Disney vault, but I've never seen anyone mention if/when those respective titles ever come back out. Anyone know? Obviously we're not at that point yet on any of the Disney BRs, but did any of their prior "vaulted" DVDs ever get re-released, and if so, how long did it take? Are we talking 5 or 10 years, or never, or...? I joined the Blu-ray party a tad late and missed Disney's first 4 animated BRs: Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Snow White & Fantasia. They're not outrageously pricey on the aftermarket right now, but I was just curious if waiting several years may save me a few bucks if they're re-released (I'm a patient and frugal buyer). Any insight would be appreciated!

Or...whenever Disney's ready to sell them again.
Sleeping Beauty was in the vault for five years after its SE DVD, but got an early parole when they needed a widescreen Blu-ray. Aladdin was next in line for this year, but got an extra year in the vault when they needed another 3D re-release for '14. Pinocchio stayed a whole nine years, and it took its Blu place in line to bring it back.

This isn't a set penalty box, it's simply taking something off shelves to create demand. Cause, y'know, it's...thair disks.
That said, shouldn't we be making this a What's Being Vaulted in '13 list?
