Default Where is the Great Outdoors?

This is my favorite John Candy film, since most of John Candy's poplar movies came out on Blu-Ray, we just need the Great Outdoors and I will be a happy camper!

Default Where is the Great Ourdoors?

Um, outside.

*crickets*

Now that the ice has been broken, I would love this film on Blu.
Don't like it?
Don't buy it.

For those that don't have the DVD, don't bother. It's Non anamorphic and crappy transfer. Technically, @ 6.2 MB/sec average, I expected a much better picture. O well, we need this on Blu ray....day one for me...

Unfortunately, you are correct, But.....and this is a big but......

You can get the anamorphic version in the John Candy Comedy Favorites Collection. I can not state if the transfer is inferior or not to the non anamorphic, but you do get the full 1:85.1...

Region 2 & region 4 are the same as region 1 as they all have the crappy non anamorphic outside this collection

It should be released in a 2 disc pack along with Summer Rental which I felt was one of his best. The Great Outdoors seemed almost to be a Dan Akroyd film, just like Planes, Trains & Automobiles where he also had shared billing. But Summer Rental was all John Candy.

I understand, but depending on the transfer, some dvd's look great while most, look, well.... sad...
The movie is funny as hell, and would love to see a Blu release

I think it is sad that Planes, Trains and Automobiles has already been released on BD twice and the Great Outdoors hasn't come out at all. Hope that we see finally see a Blu-ray release in 2014.
