What is "The Cove"? I found it to be surprisingly good and more importantly my kids really enjoyed it. I'm curious as to why they would want to boycott it.

No, because the dolphin in Dolphin Tale was a rescue.

You know what I'm honestly going to think...

I remember last year when "Legends of the Guardians" and "The Town" came out from WB in September that they got released on December 17th, which was a Friday. I think it may end up again with "Dolphin Tale" and "Contagion" all getting Friday December releases in mid-December before Christmas.

I was thinking the exact same thing and was about to post exactly what you put down, but you beat me to it

Typically with August/September releases, they follow the same pattern as other years in regards to video release dates. Right before Xmas they usually "dump" them off to get some of that Christmas Cash.

Yeah probably both "Contagion" and "Dolphin Tale" will come out December 16th as part of the pattern just for Xmas cash.

I wanted this on 3D as I saw the 3D presentation in the theater, but for $40 bloody dollars they can keep it!!!

So, does the movie-only version mean no special features or just no slip, dvd, or uv?

Other choices, like Moneyball and Friends with Benefits list a version on this site and then a combo pack too, but neither states "Movie Only" like this one.

Sounds like a term for a Wal-Mart-like stripped down version.

Warner is the only one who really releases these "movie only versions". The ones that i have gotten do not have a slip cover, but ussually have whatever bonus features that the dvd has. Also the artwork is ussually the same as the dvd version. But the recent movie only editions have come with uv copies

I watched this last night (in 3D which was great) and I really enjoyed this film. As the reviewer pointed out, it's main plot point is what you've seen a bunch of times before but there's just something about this, that just seems better then the usual formula for these types of films. Personally I think you have to have a heart of stone not to find this film warm, touching and beautiful. One of the better family films I've seen in a long time. If you're into 3D, it was shot natively and the results were just outstanding. It's one of the best usage of 3D I've seen in a while. If you have children, it's a no brainer purchase in my mind. If you are a kid at heart like I am, it's still a great watch and worth it to add to your Bluray library.
