Default Community - Season One

Saw this listing for Community - Season One Blu-ray today on Wal-mart.com...

http://www.walmart.com/ip/14894327

Might be a placeholder listing, but thought it was odd as it hadn't been there before last week, and there is no listing for the second season. The fact that it lists the release date as 12/31/2011 is what makes me take this with a grain of salt. Since this is one of my favorite shows on television (next to Dexter and Parks & Recreation) it would be awesome to see...but I won't get my hopes up until it's actually announced.

It's very possible. I finally broke down and bought both seasons on DVD *TODAY*. Considering past experiences, I laughed out loud when I saw your topic just minutes after getting home. They always seem to announce the blu right after I get the DVD. This could be a new record if true.

I was thinking about blind buying season 1 on DVD. I wish there was more info about the blu, if it's happening or not.

I wish they released more shows on BLU I realize sales aren't the best for some shows... but I pass on DVDs altogether on shows that aired in HD and I can't see them that way.

Ugly Betty would have been a great HD release.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

The possibility of seasons one and two being released on BD is the reason why I do not own the first two seasons on DVD. And believe me, not caving in and buying those DVD sets has been extremely difficult, as Community is my favorite comedy series on TV right now.

I hope to see an official announcement soon. Or ever, really.

I e-mailed TVShowsOnDVD about it the other night, they told me it's probably a placeholder, but they'll look into it.

I highly doubt Wal-Mart knows something that site doesn't know about. Or even amazon for that matter. I think it's a placeholder too.

This show on blu-ray is like Arrested Development on blu-ray for me: I'll believe it when I hold it in my hand.

Same here. A good number of shows I would happily buy that havent come to blu. I absolutely skip on the DVDs, because I watched them air in HD. No way would I buy a copy of lower quality. Give me what I see on air, or better, or no sale at all. It's unfortunate, but I'll never be able to wrap my head around lower definition releases. It's funny because I'll do it for anime, to support smaller anime companies. But for a larger TV studio, I cant bring myself to crack.

But why a placeholder so recently? It strikes me as odd and worth investigating.

I'm hopeful for both shows to end up on Blu-ray. I own AD on DVD, but I've resisted on Community so far.

I highly doubt this is going blu, no date and says OOS online. Not the first time wm.com makes this kind of mistake. I hope i'm wrong though.

I also bought the DVD awhile ago on Amazon.com when it was $13.

As you might guess I'm a fan of the show.

Highly doubt it is ever coming.

NBC comedies don't release in Blu. 30 Rock, Parks And Recreation, etc.
