Also out today I spotted another re-issue of The Thing but I still think it's Non-Anamorphic! Just tried Twelve Monkeys and it's the same as well. Oh well. I'll return it and wait for the BD to reach a cheap enough price.

Turned up old and used from Amazon, the case has that horrible rippling damage on it as well and the disc is even dirty!

This review on Amazon made me laugh.

"The film, in effect a film of two halves, offers a taught counter balance between humdrum work and domestic family life, and the desire for ultimate revenge ending in an almost inevitable outcome. With sparse dialogue and being very stylishly shot it suggests elements of film noir - but then I would say that - and give it at least 4 stars - because the Director and lead actor happens to be my son. His previous film 'Its Winter' is worth buying."

I honestly haven't bought a dvd since early 2007 not long after blu-ray become available. I don't collect seasons and had every movie I desired to own on DVD, most blu-rays I buy I'm just upgrading from my dvd versions.

The last dvd I watched was about a month ago, which was Ace Ventura Pet Detective. It was a bit of a shock too, because I had forgotten that the original Australian Ace Ventura dvd release was presented in 4:3, not 16:9.

I only buy dvds when I know something isn't coming on blu.. and even then I can still hold out for hope. I have season 1-5 on dvd so I just had to grab season 6.

When it comes to DVD's I buy TV series on DVD as most of the ones I like now that are coming out on BR I already have a few seasons of, which I'm not prepared to part with / replace at the moment.

Some things on DVD I see at car boot sales that I'm not sure about, have never seen before, or know I would not make the effort to ever buy on BR, I will buy, especially as most the time there £1 each (occasionally £2)

My husband just bought us both season 6 of TNG online secondhand (in perfect condition) for under £13 (this is the bigger silver set not the new slimline sets) Got all the seasons of TNG at last

He also got the 'Star Trek Q Fan Collection' brand new for under a fiver

Two good buys there, really pleased with them..
