This is a cool movie. It'll be nice to see those ants on a giant screen again

WOW.

ive been wanting to own this movie for ever. every time i checked it was out of print, or VHS only (way out of print). i think there are some import DVD's floating around though.

i havent seen this film in at least 15 years (edit: easily over 20 years). i saw it late night on TMC a really long time ago and i loved it.

dont know if it will live up to the memory of how it blew my mind way back then, but im buying this for sure. this movie is legendary in my mind.

thanks for the heads up. pre-ordered!

(that cover art is amazing!)

Sweet!!! This sucker's never even been on Laserdisc let alone DVD. The few DVD copies floating around Ebay have been bad copies from the VHS.
2521 titles on disc... of those, 926 are Blu-Ray, 61 are 3D.

I watched it in ten parts on youtube. Can't wait to see it in HD.

It has one of the wildest screen plays I've ever heard-although they had to do something back then to get people to watch a insect documentary.
I agree with Deciazulado: it'll be great to see this in HD.

I watched a little of it on youtube, this is very intriguing. Hopefully, it's not a bare-bones release like most of Olive's titles. Hard to justify 20 plus dollars for just the movie alone.

Over the years, I managed to resist all of those boots and burns DavePS3, so I haven't even seen this film since its original theatrical release.

Memory of its specifics are rather hazy now, but I still remember how it felt...mesmerizing, even trippy, but very unnerving. Lalo Schifrin's omnipresent score was a major plus.

So I'm definitely in for this...

The good news is that The Hellstrom Chronicle is finally readily available on home video, but the transfer is far from spectacular. A lot of the microphotography looks excellent, but the Hellstrom segments are far less sharp.

Also, little to no cleaning was done to the film print and no extras are included whatsoever, which I understand is par for the course with Olive releases.

Still pleased to finally own this film.
