Default Yamaha AVENTAGE 3010...a "FUN" AVR.

I'm in the market for a new AVR & I really like what I've been reading about the AVENTAGE line. I never had a Yamaha AVR, (always have been an NAD guy) but my curiousity has been tweaked with the Yammie's DSP reputation along with their sound guality. It sounds like it would be a lot of "FUN" playing around with the settings yet at the same time be a very serious player with two channel music. No other AVR's seem to come close to the Yammies reputation when it comes to the DSP arena. Do you guys put a lot of stock into the DSP programs? It seems like it brings a lot more to the table than other similiary priced AVR's. My thought would be to expand to a 7.2/9.2 setup in the near future. I've also been looking at offerings from Arcam, Anthem, Pioneer, Onkyo & of course NAD but I keep drifting back to the AVENTAGE 3010. Maybe it's time for me to switch things up a bit. Thoughts?

I have owned three Yamaha DSP receivers since the mid 1990s. I have always enjoyed playing with the DSP options for both music and movies. If you have not seen my review, it may be helpful for you to read it.

Detailed Review of Yamaha RX-A3010 Aventage Receiver
I did read your very well written review, & because of your review & many others like it, is what's peaked my interest with the 3010. I'll take another look at your review because I didn't see where you mentioned a lot about the DSP programs (I certainly might have missed it). Yamaha seems to own the marketplace when it comes to DSP settings. The other AVR's I mentioned just seem to be lacking compared to the 3010, (at the same price point) some of those AVR are off the charts $$$$$$. Do you feel that to be the case. Thanks.

The Yamaha 3010 is priced below the top receivers from other companies. I also agree with you that the Yamaha DSP programs are superior to the options from other companies.
