Me too. Paramount has done rather well by its VistaVision catalogue titles so far.

The Centennial DVD looks tremendous upconverted. I can only imagine how good a full blown 1080p Blu-ray disc will look.

I'm definitely looking out for this. Cary Grant's some 8-10 years younger than he was in Charade so hopefully his pairing with Grace Kelly will look a lot less awkward than with Audrey Hepburn in that film.

Grace Kelly has been my favorite actress for many years even though she really wasn't in that many movies.
She looks absolutely stunning in this film, and the fireworks date scene has to be one of the most sumptuous in celluloid history imo.

I love this movie. Pure entertainment.

I expect the Blu will look fantastic. VistaVision, the French Riviera, Grace Kelly. Ooo la la.

2012 sure is shaping up to be a good year for Hitchcock fans, and I'll be buying all of them. Rebecca, Notorious, Spellbound, and now To Catch a Thief. That is more Hitchcock films than those that have been released since blu-ray's launch. And there will probably be even more announced Hopefully all the transfers are good.

Great news. The Hitchcock library on Blu has really been building up recently.
They have made my kingdom bleed, and I do not forget that.

Yup. And apparently there's rumblings over in the UK section that there's to be a Hitchcock Warner's collection coming soon there - as well as Dial M For Murder. Which means I anticipate a US release too.

And with the Vertigo and Rear Window speculations due to Universal's 100th - and my intense speculation that a Criterion The 39 Steps must not be too far off since the surprise The Lady Vanishes announcement - yes, a very good year for Hitchcock fans.

the difference is that The Lady Vanishes had already been given the hd dvd update, while The 39 steps is still the original ancient Criterion dvd.
I'd love to get a "true" upgrade after the ITV debacle but won't be holding my breath.
(Criterion does seem to be emphasizing their early spine numbers for bd updates so that perhaps offers hope)

HD-DVD? I wasn't aware of an HD-DVD of that title. I just figure those two titles are inexorably linked in the Hitchcock-on-home-video canon.

I mean Lady Vanishes had been given an hd scan update by Criterion, not that there was an HD DVD of it.
sorry for the confusion.
