Default 50 Years of James Bond!

Bond 50 Blu-ray

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=8017

In the first of what will be - hopefully - many special events to mark the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is presenting its new Directors' Panel series for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month.

The panel will feature famed directors John Glen (For Your Eyes Only, Octo*****, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill), Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) and Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough), as they take a look back at the acclaimed franchise and how technology has influenced their work.

The 2012 Consumer Electronics Show and 20th's Directors' Panel will be held on Tuesday, January 10.

I really really really highly doubt they are giving any of the released movies new transfers... I mean just look at the track record of Blu Rays released up to this point. With the titles already released all we'll get is new cover art for the 50th anniversery and probly a dvd combo. New transfers... forget about it. Besides have you seen the Connery releases? I doubt they can look much better if at all. There is no way they will invest more money into re-doing the existing Blu Ray transfers

Why would they need to do new transfers? They cleaned up every film as best as they could and did it in 4k.

Well, they could have eased off a bit with the DNR here and there. To be accurate, not all the titles were given a 4K scan.

4K scan, please. Make mine unscrubbed and hold the teal'n'orange, thanks!

I didn't notice any DNR in any of the films, film grain was intact as it should be, with detail at an immesibly high level. Just because they have a very high contrast it doesn't mean DNR was used, that's what's so great about Lowry, they don't use DNR.

I suppose people will always look for flaws in very high restoration jobs, like the Bond movies, despite there actually not being any.
Ask me any question about Doctor Who and I'll know the answer.

Do you do that for every Top Gear fan?

Or are you just agreeing with my post?

I agree with this point. Especially the part about the Connery films, they look spectacular.

Hoping for some classy artwork/packaging. The current covers are cheesy and cheap looking.
