and how did it happen? do i need to do something so it won't have a problem with the power supply? assuming i would buy another Insignia player in the future.

part of them being 'refurbished' and originally to keep prices down. It was my first Insignia, the seller sent me the unit back fixed. No problems since, been almost 1 year

I returned my BRDVD3 today and ordered a BRDVD4. My discs (all regions) started having play issues at around an hour into them.

Amazon has some marketplace sellers selling it new. Pricey, though.

Got mine today and updated (downgrade) the firmware. It works just fine

PS: i tried this on a USB with files. Just make sure you put the file on to the root of the USB and it should be fine.

Of all the problem you've had with this brand, why are you interested in buying another one? You should know Insignia blu-ray players are no good by now. What does it take to see the light! Whether if you buy one that's been refurbished or brand new, you are going to have problems. Why do you think there so many refurbished players on the market being sold? That alone should be a red flag to everybody! I'm not the kind of person who'll sugarcoat any problematic issues I'm just keeping it real, since nobody is going to be honest, and tell you the truth about these Insignia Blu-ray Players. If you decide to buy another Insignia, after experiencing many defects with their product, don't complain because you've been warned.

That's why refurbs are better than new. The problems have been fixed. I would never buy a new or used insignia.

I got a refurb BRDVD4 as a backup player when they were selling them for $35 before thanksgiving. Set it up, tested it. It would lock up after about a minute every time.
I recommended a guy on another forum looking for a region free player. He bought one and it wouldn't even load anything.
The two Insignia players I bought from new both work perfectly (although the one in the bedroom gets used very infrequently so who knows about that one *lol* )
In my experience, new was better. I probably just got lucky. And then unlucky.

Got a question for dvd4 owners who use Netflix. When I stream movies to my Roku through netflix they are in the correct OAR and stream in HD. On the dvd4, they are in Zoom to fill the screen and are never in HD. Is there anything I am missing in the settings on the dvd4 player?

all I can do is at that comment. We all thank you for being the bright light in this dark thread since we are trying to pull the wool over everyones eyes. Like I've said a million times already, I have 3 Insignia and no problems since the first had to have the power supply replaced about 1 year ago. I always welcome criticism that one has experienced FIRST HAND

Cos i don't have money, i can't afford $400 for player, and i have a lot of reg B blu ray's. And it seems like Insignia is the "only" affordable player.

I'm just hoping the player would last at least a year, apparently some users here have no problem with their Insignia.
