Possible DRIVE Steelbook Future Shop

Although Future Shop doesn't have it listed yet, several sites do. I'm assuming it's a Steelbook because Alliance handled distribution in Canada and they released Future Shop Exclusive Steelbooks for Inglourious Basterds & The Mechanic.

We are planning an exclusive embossed Ocard that will be available exclusively at Future Shop. We have seen it and it looks awesome.

We will not be releasing a steelbook for this release.

Well Alliance didn't handle theatrical distribution here in Canada, Maple Pictures did. Oddly though, Amazon.ca states Alliance is distributor, which I'm not so sure is correct...

I'm pretty sure Alliance did. I remember the Alliance logo playing before the movie when I saw it in theaters.

I think Alliance will be distributing it as I believe they had the trailer for Drive at the beginning of the Warrior blu-ray

Well the 1st link in the 1st post states Maple Pictures as the Blu distributor... And it definitely was Maple that handled theatrical in Canada, but Alliance Vivafilm (French division) for Quebec release oddly. If there was a trailer at the beginning of the Warrior blu, that does pretty much solidify Alliance is putting out the Blu-ray, that & the Amazon.ca listing.

I hope its a steelbook, personally. Nothing was posted on the Future Shop forums however. So I think many of us will be checking FS's site for the next couple weeks for cover art & pricing.

An O-card is just another term for slipcover. Well if the other stores don't have a slip, I'll be buying it at FS. I kinda prefer slipcovers over steelbooks anyhow.

Also got a copy for my brother, and a copy for a US friend. I'd be willing to pick up more for members etc., but you have to know that it'll cost a pretty penny thanks to taxes, shipping charges & for me going out of my way...

I rented the Alliance version of Drive yesterday and was wondering if the version available in the U.S. is any different? I assume that if I wanted to get the U.S. version, I would have to order through Amazon or at another U.S. site.

I think the only differences are the preview/boot-up trailers, the CDN version has a 5.1 DTS HD MA audio track, but doesn't have the Spanish subs. Extras are identical, & assume the transfer is too. Looks great!

The booklet is nice, slipcover of course, dvd copy & digital copy code, all the extras from the US release are the same, but this disc does have different preview trailers.
