Alas, this is going to be a blind buy, because the theatre closest to me during the holidays never brought it in (stupid Twilight), and it's pretty much out of theatres around here. Ditto for The Muppets.

Looks like Paramount has chosen February 28th for its release.

A price drop just happened on these pre-orders at Amazon. It's now 27.99 for 3D and 21.99 for 2D. Not bad!

well seeing how the reviews are of the movie not the blu-ray I don't see anything wrong with that.

Pre-ordered this at Movie Stop about a month or so ago. One of my faves for the year. Hands down!

LOVED this movie. Chloe Moretz is destined to become a star, and even bigger one than she already is in my book.

Cool. A friend of mine thinks I will love this film. Might have to do the rare blind buy on this one.

I see she won the People Choice Award for Favorite Star Under 25. That's a big win considering who she was up against.

Loved this in the theater, and I would definitely purchase it, but I'm wondering how much of the magic will be lost viewing it in 2D? It's one of the few movies I've watched that I truly felt the 3D added to the experience.

Yeah...... I loved her in Kickass. This movie (Hugo) showed she can pull off the serious roles as good as anyone out there.

Without a doubt. Chloe must be on cloud 9 after scooping up that award. A much deserved win.

She rocked as Hit Girl and sucked as a vamp *ba-dum-bum*

Moretz wears many hats. I believe she can pull off any role handed to her.

I love this movie and I have to admit that the 3D was quite good (and I hate 3D) but I will buy the 2D version because I have not use to 3D BD in my living room.

Sad that this film wasn't hugely successful commercially, but that didn't change the fact that it was a beautiful film. Hopefully it gets plenty of recognition at the Academy Awards.

The good thing about the film not being successful, while also being a huge Oscar Contender, is that it means a faster release onto Blu-ray. If February 28th is the real date, that's fantastic. I'll be purchasing the 3D version, it was the best 3D since Avatar.

If you are even just thinking possibly of getting a 3D TV at some point in the future, pay the few extra bucks to get the 3D combo. I saw it in the theatre and it is amazing in 3D. (I don't think I can now see it any other way.)

That will also greatly depend on how many big budget kid roles are available.

Before this the last 3D movie I saw was Avatar. Im not a big fan of the format tho I did appreciate what a skilled director could do with it.

I cant see her getting type cast because she does so many different things. She takes leading roles and smaller parts. Her roles seem to cover a variety including drama, comedy, action, horror, etc. She seems as interested in who is directing as in what the role is.

I wonder if she read for Ender's Game whose cast is mostly children. Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld and Asa Butterfield among others.
