Paranormal Activity 4 - Blu-ray Forum

Paramount Pictures recently confirmed that its planning to release "Paranormal Activity 4" this year. At the time it wasn't clear who will be directing or whether the usual October release date would be kept.

Since then, the studio has revealed that the film will hit theaters on October 19th, 2012 and both "Paranormal Activity 3" directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman will once again be helming. Joost and Schulman are also known for their film "Catfish."

While it's a bit early to tell which direction the fourth film will go, the directors have several options since the third installment introduced us to the young Katie and Kristi, and to their grandmother.

"Paranormal Activity 3" grossed over $200 million at the box office, while the entire franchise has earned about $577 million. The combined cost of all three films is around $8 million.

Turning into Saw..... I guess good news for people who like the PA franchise. I watched the first two movies. Liked the first one. Just not my type of movie. I did like sitting in a sold out theater listening to everyone scream.

that new movie the devil inside is probably going to turn into this too where they make one basically every year.

I don't think so. I think it will make around 25 million and be done. Not that 25 million is bad. I would love to make 25 million.

they should quit while they're ahead. Part 3 was enjoyable but they can't do any more prequels. Is this thing going to be shot on Super 8?

The first Paranormal Activity was based supposedly on true events, (which I knew it was a lie from the beginning) and now they're making prequels, and sequels obliviously to substantiate, the stories are fabricated, and they're nothing but fiction.

It's being dumped on the first weekend of January, a month where movie studios release terrible films. It's the slowest month of the year (unless you're Avatar and destroy January on your own.)

The Devil Within would be lucky to make $15-$20M.

The Devil Inside will not get a sequel. 100%.

Paranormal Activity 4 is incredible news. Already expected, but I am extremely excited! The entire series so far has been quite fantastic, especially for these kinds of movies.

The Paranormal genre ended the Torture Porn films (Saw), I wonder what's going to be next for horror in 2-4 years?
