Could be Best Buy exclusive. They recently had other Paramount titles as exclusives (Naked Gun, Airplane, etc)

Man this is incredible news if true. This is one of the big titles I've been waiting for.
Paramount's done a pretty good job with its catalogs, and this is a big fish in that pond. So I look forward to a great package. And if it's exclusive perhaps it's not just amaray packaging; I'd gladly take a digibook of this title. My blu budget will be heavily catalog-based this year.

and that's one thing I use as a guide of titles to come. Some of the films they show essentially get a release a few months after airing on HDNet.

Fantastic news. We already know that Universal is releasing a ton of great catalog titles in 2012, so I hope that this and To Catch a Thief being released means that Paramount will finally start opening the floodgates. Hopefully Polanski's Rosemary's Baby will be released too. I never bought the DVD and it's currently OOP.

Nice. But Paramount really needs to step up. Isn't it Paramount's 100 aniv also? As much as you all hate Universal at least they are making a bigger deal about it. Paramount has so many classic and catalogs titles they could releasing. Sunset Blvd. Roman Holiday, Hud, A Place in the Sun, Gunfight at the OK Corral, The vast library of John Wayne titles, Nashville, The Elephant Man, Ordinary People, Heaven Can Wait, Urban Cowboy, Escape From Alcatraz, Serpico, Murder on the Orient Express, The Miracle of Morgan's Creek, The Longest Yard, The Bad News Bears, The Duellists, Dragonslayer, Young Sherlock Holmes, An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, Top Secret!, Stalag 17, Popeye, Marathon Man, Rosemary's Baby, The Odd Couple, Ragtime etc. And how about re-issues of Reds, Zodiac, 3 Days of the Condor.

Well it's about time ! I have been waiting for this one for awhile. Sold my DVD when they hinted at it coming out a year ago. Now do you think it would be too much to hope for The Two Jakes ??

I'm sure Chinatown and Sunset Blvd are in that pile to be released. 2012 is going to be an epic year for BD catalog titles. |

This is huge. Scratch another one off the (ever dwindling) must have list.
This is looking to be a pretty good AFI 100 release year. Either confirmed or all but confirmed... Chinatown Lawrence of Arabia ET To Kill a Mockingbird Annie Hall The Deer Hunter (US) Jaws The Apartment And in the credible rumor/speculation category) Double Indemnity (based on that leaked Uni schedule that's looking pretty reliable these days) Titanic (duh) Raiders of the Lost Ark City Lights (Criterion can't sit on their Chaplins forever) I thought 2011 was a really good catalog year. 2012 is looking even better and it's barely started.
