Don't care for Sets, Era's, just individual releases will do me fine, only want the Connery, Moore (minus AVTAK) ones.

I wouldn't say that to Kevin McClory. It was the one film that almost killed James Bond!

How much do we think the set will go for? The DVD set was £22 the other day... I'd imagine it's going to be £100+.

I wouldn't dare.

I'm guessing it'll certainly be in the region of £100+. I paid I think £120 for the complete Ultimate Edition DVD set, but you never know it might be lower to attract as many buyers as possible, especially when most already own half of them. I'm also thinking packaging will be a factor, because if it's anything like the attache case set, then it will have a major impact.

The DVD's and Blu's have gone into moratorium in Germany (maybe the rest of the world will follow suit), luckily I only have Volume 1 of the BD set (I was going to buy volume 2 the other day from Canada has it was very cheap but I wasn't sure of the region coding). If it's £100 it will be less than a fiver a film which will be good value for money.

I'll wait until it's less than £50 though.... Daniel Craig will have been replaced by then!

Here's hoping they'll just release all the other films singularly too.

I think the boxset will probably be £180 - £200 on release

I very much doubt it'll be taht much, as people just would not want to pay that much when the economy is tough anyway. I think the absolute highest price it'll be is £150.

Bear in mind the when they price boxsets they have to take into account how many of the films are desirable to the public and, let's face it, James Bond has a good few dodgy films (as would any franchise if it went for 50 years). So charging £200 wouldn't work when customers would be able to pay much cheaper than that to just buy the ones they like.

This is one of the reasons boxsets are so popular with studios - it helps shift titles that wouldn't sell great on their own (as much as I love it how well would Jurassic Park III have done if it was just released by itself? Or Alien Resurrection?) but for that to work they have to price it so that the boxset is the better option.

I would love to see individual boxed sets for each Bond actor.
As long as they release all films in kits at once, I'll finally get Bond on blu-ray. The complaints about will they or won't they change the packaging, etc is exactly why I've held off. This series was dipped on DVD so many times that I will never buy the first release on any format.

And why they are quite popular with consumers too. I would never have bought both those films but quite enjoyed them when I watched them, despite them being a weak entry in their respective series.

Will buy the bond set, but anything over £60 will put me right off. About 8 must owns and the rest are JP3s

Also should get a discount for having to own Die Another Day.

There was a panel at Comic-Con (the link is in the Legend thread), and the insiders there said that the market for catalogue titles just isn't there for Blu-ray unless they offer something unique. It seems the public just doesn't want to buy the same titles over and over again unless the package offers something new.

Unless the Bond set offers something new (and the current Blu's didn't really with regards to the special features ) MGM should price the set more accordingly. If they charge £7.50 a film it's still going to be £165. I think it will struggle at that price unless there's some serious discounts going on. As many of us will be double-dipping at least eight films (if we've already bought Volume 1 and the two Craig films).

There just isn't any point to a "complete" box set end of! There will always be another Bond film which will come out, hasn't DC just signed a contract for another 5 Bond films?

Well considering the series was rebooted with Casino Royale and Die Another Day very much felt like the end of an era, any complete set should be the first 20. That's how I think they should release Bond box sets.

And Daniel Craig hasn't signed on for another 5, Michael G. Wilson, producer, would like him to stay for another 5, including Skyfall.
Ask me any question about Doctor Who and I'll know the answer.
