Spartacus: War of the Damned

I didnt see a thread for season 2 so I made a new one. I also dont know how many people have Directv, but they premiered the first episode tonight on the Audience channel on Directv. I DVR'd it and will watch either later tonight or tomorrow. I am so excited that this is back and curious to see what takes place and also how the few cast changes do. Got Em!!

Really looking forward to it. Loved the first season and the Prequel mini series. Obviously it is a shame Andy is no longer with us but what I have seen of the new Spartacus seems like he will be a good replacement


The this first Episode is airing on the 27th as well right or will that be episode 2 ?

I am in the UK so can't stream or watch directv

The first episode will also air on the 27th on the regular Starz channel. Directv just showed it a week early on their own channel for whatever reason. Got Em!!

I saw and own the first series but haven't had the chance to watch the prequel stuff yet... The new Spartacus seems to be fine from what I saw in pictures, I hope he does a good job on screen...

The first episode of Vengeance is on Starz website. I watched it last night. It was good but I'm not 100% sold on Liam yet.

For me. It took Andy half the first seasons to really establish himself as Spartacus. So Liam will get the same kind of Leniency from me.

Don't me wrong. Im not giving up on Liam or this show. He had to step in and feel the shoes of a beloved actor which is extremely difficult. Once he gets comfortable with the role and finds his rhythm. I think he will be a good Spartacus.

Just watched the first episode and I think dude will do ok as Spartacus. He has the look and should be able to pull it off. Nice way to start off the season and I am looking forward to see where it goes. I also knew that

Does anybody know if they put all the episodes up on their "On Demand" channel after they've aired? The reason I ask is my cable company offers the on demand only as a cheaper option to getting the channel, and I'd be happy to do that if I was sure I could watch the show on there. I don't really need a full starz subscription.

The new guy will be ok going forward although I think he could bulk up just a little bit more (like 10 pounds)

Spartacus has been gone from TV for too long, we need swords and sandals on TV

And if you didn't hear yet, Starz already ordered a season 3

I'm gonna miss Batiatus though his poetry with cuss words was only rivaled by Al Swearengen on Deadwood

I got the biggest rush when he met his bloody end at Spartacus' hand. Actually my heart pounded throughout the entirety of "Kill Them All". Awesome!

I'm thinking spoiler tags are in order:

[Show spoiler]I was slightly disappointed that the overall look has been altered slightly...this will only take a few episodes to get over though. The new brunette on the show was in X with Viva Bianca who plays Ilithia. I'm looking forward to seeing her in action. There's definitely something missing so far and I'm not talking about Andy.

No way in Hell Glaber is going to come close to be as good an antagonist as Batiatus was.

[Show spoiler] All though I wonder how big a part Lucretia is going to have and I am also curious how Anameaus is going to fair and where he will end up. Will he join his fellow Gladiators ( maybe when Gannicus turns up ?) or will he forge his own path through most of the season before the 2 are thrust back together in equal cause.

As far as what is missing:

[Show spoiler]I definitely think the look is different. Something feels either cartoonish or daytime soap opera to me. Could be different editors...could be a new cinematographer but something is off

[Show spoiler]I think Crixus will be like "NO...there's one guy he'll listen to. Then they will seek out Ganicus and Anamaeus will go through this whole "ghosts of the past" thing for a couple of episodes.
