Hate to burst your bubble but this news was already well covered in both the Official anime thread and the dragonball z on blu ray thread. Also funi is only temporarily halting the releases due to the cost of the restorations they were doing and are looking into every possible option to continue to release the level sets.

The anime market for physical goods is imploding as many anime fans are moving to streaming and downloads. It's probably the genre hit the hardest so far by the transition.

Why hasn't Blu-ray.com posted this yet? People should be informed about this. This is a very big deal for those who planned on buying the first two sets or the rest of the series on Blu-ray.

I don't see how it's a big deal. There's not even any mention of it on most of the HD sites I frequent.

I'm more than a little letdown by the news. Dragon Ball Kai sucked (as both a series and transfer) but the DBZ Level boxsets are wonderful on Blu-Ray and truly deserve to be called HD remasters. I still intend to pre-order the DBZ level 2.1 boxset, if only to prove a point, but cancelling releases like this will only give people more reason to acquire their anime through less than legal methods. Ironic really.

I agree. Not too long ago I was one of those hardcore DBZ fans that wouldn't give the show a proper chance because they had changed a few things about it and plus they got rid of the Bruce Faulconer music which I didn't like too well. Anyway, as time went on I use to see the series on and would watch it just because nothing else was on and over time developed a bit of liking for it because I realized that it is actually A LOT better than the original DBZ

Ha ha these comments are funny, the reason these are being halted, is because Toriyama has released a new dragon ball series called, dragon ball zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz which includes the new 2 second panty shot of bulma, which wasn't included in the previous releases.

Wait does that mean that Season 4 for DBZ Kai won't come out. I know they stopped with the Levels but I thought they were gonna finish Kai, they already released the first three season? That would suck if they did the disney thing and left everyone hanging for DBZ Kai season 4.
