Can anybody tell me if the complete SAW collection boxset from Metropolitan contains forced subs on any of the 7 movies?

Also do they have English menu's at all?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I don't have them, but I'm pretty sure that I've read on this forum about people complaining that the French versions of Valhalla Rising and Ghost Dog: Way Of The Samurai have forced French subtitles.

Just noticed The Bounty being released in May by Opening Distribution and Westworld being released in April by Avanti

Does anyone know what these companies track records are for forced subs?

Only one Opening Distribution release (Exodus) appears in the master list on Page 1 of this thread, so that seems to be moderately encouraging. However, Pro-B has mentioned (in the thread on The Bounty) that they have to work with the transfers they are given by other parties, so they don't make these decisions themselves. It also means that the technical quality of their BD releases may be variable.

Two Aventi releases (Dead Ringers and Zombie) are listed.
Panasonic Blu-ray players BD65 (UK model), BD75 (Multi-region US model), Panasonic EX77 recorder, Denon 3808 receiver, Panasonic 46PZ80 TV, 5.1 speaker system: KEF Reference Model 3 (fronts), KEF Model 200C (centre), Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 (surrounds), SVS SB12-Plus (sub)

This is such a useful thread - could it be made a Sticky?

Apparently Pork Chop Hill (Filmmedia) should be added to the list. See the following thread:

According to this thread here http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=184078 you can also add The Artist to the ever growing list.

I have the feeling it would be way easier to make a list of French releases of non-French language films that don't have forced subtitles.
My BD/DVD Collection

Normal is not something to aspire to, it's something to get away from (Jodie Foster).

Very disappointed about this one, too. I had my one on it from the beginning. I should learn French.

Also add to the dreaded forced subtitles list The Gift (import the German disc instead), The Killing Room and Train
I also find it annoying that apart from Gaumont none of the French studios provide English subs on their own French movies.

For the Saw movies i only have Saw 3 , the extended cut , released by Metropolitan - menus are French which is no big deal and hoooray the subtitles can be disabled via the main menu.
