Portuguese, yes, it seems.

Looks like there isn't a lossless English track. Just Dolby Digital 5.1, same as the old DVD.
Also is missing a lot of extras that were on the 2-disc DVD. Very disappointing.

If having no HD audio was but enough the picture also suffers from pulsing/flickering which will either be hidden or exaggerated depending on your display and settings.

On mine it is obvious throughout the film with night time scenes almost unwatchable, fingers crossed a future US release has a brand new transfer and DTS-HD audio.

No lossless audio? And questionable picture quality? Why would they drop the ball on this?

It is an odd one, Pocahontas is just as good as 'The Lion King' with a fantastic picture, DTS-HD audio and tons of extras yet 'Tarzan' is barely better than an HDTV rip and has next to no extras.

I watched the DVD of Tarzan with my nephew at Easter and was amazed with how good it looked and sounded. It surprises me that the Blu-ray is not up to scratch. Perhaps Disney will recall the disc if lots of customers complain?

Not happy that the audio is lossy and also average picture. Was going to pick this one up, but will now wait for a USA release!

Hey, first post.

Well, ive recently started collecting Disney blurays and Tarzan was the latest film to add to my collection.

This flickering though is really quite troublesome. as someone else mentioned, during the nighttime scenes is was really quite noticeable and distracting. is my Bluray faulty? or do the settings on my tv need to be adjusted?

thanks!

hey, and welcome! You've got nothing to worry about. It's not your disc or TV its just a bad transfer. Unfortunately Disney havent taken much care over this one.

well thats a real shame. i mean, im glad my tv or bluray isnt faulty, you'd think what with tarzan being a lot more upto date than the older disney films that have been released on BR, the picture would be flawless. im a bit dubious now with buying animations. i thought they'd all be pretty crystal clear.

think ill stick to reading reviews on here before i buy. before tarzan, all my other disney blurays have been fantastic in terms of picture quality.

I'm going to wait for the American release, hopefully that will be a much better transfer, should be because they will convert it to 3D and remaster it.

It's weird, the only bits it's noticeable in my copy is right at the beginning during the shipwreck and for a couple of seconds during the Tarzan/jaguar fight. Apart from that, I don't see it at all!

Where did you get that nugget of BS from? There are no plans to convert it to 3D.

There is a placeholder: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Tarzan-3D-Blu-ray/40389/

Little Mermaid will release in 3D coming to Cinemas March 2013 too apparantly!

Depends on your kit, some will hide the issue and others will exaggerate it, the constant flickering played hell with the local dimming on my screen, a normal LCD wouldn't suffer from this.
