Default Just purchased my first 3D TV!!

I'm so excited, I got a great deal on a Vizio t.v. thru amazon.com and it has great 5 star reviews. My question is, (since the tv comes with glasses) will the glasses work with my Sony 3D player?

Congratulations. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. I've seen pictures of a friend of mine's kids wearing what look to be 3D glasses they got at movies or 7-Eleven
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?

Congrats.

The glasses have nothing to do with the Player just the TV. So you will be good to good.

Enjoy!!

Congrats. I just got my new 3D TV a little over a week ago and am enjoying the h*ll out of it! Only problem is, now I'm spending way to much money buying up 3D blu-rays!

I picked up 3 more at Best Buy yesterday:
  • Polar Express 3D
  • IMAX: Under The Sea 3D
  • The Universe: 7 Wonders of the Solar System 3D
All were on sale for $19.99 each.

The player feeds to the TV and the glasses pretty much decode the signals coming off the screen, so you'd have to take whatever came with the Vizio. (Or find a good universal set on Amazon.)

Bad news. My tv was canceled because Fed Ex doesn't ship large expensive items to Alaska (they do, it's just more expensive). Intially, they also raised my shipping price and I thought it was because I lived in Alaska. But now they say they won't ship it. It's too bad, but it might be just as well. I don't know much about Vizio tv's. I will shop Best Buy and maybe Costco and see what's available but I haven't found anything online that cheap so I'll either have to spend more money for a 3D tv, or I could spend less for a regular 1080p. hmmm choices, choices....

UPDATE:
Bought a better model (Panasonic) thru Amazon directly (not a 3rd party seller) and they say they can ship to Alaska so it looks like I'm back on track. The glasses are also active, whereas they were passive with the Vizio tv, so I think i got the better deal.

I have only ever been to dutch harbor so I dont know if they have walmarts in alaska or not, but you could check there. I just picked up the E3D470VX last night for 748 bucks with 2 pairs of glasses and I am very impressed so far. 2D took me a little bit to get used to because it almost seems like its trying to make it look 3d without glasses (probably not explaining it right), which might be a vizio thing because my sister had a vizio led last year that looked like that but they ended up swapping for a panasonic that didnt look like that(both tvs were 2d only).

they also have a deal for a 42", 3d player, glasses, and HDMI cable for 699.

I assume prices will be a little higher in alaska though.

Wal-mart is everywhere, I will have to check it out. I'm paying less for the model I got through amazon but it's 32 not 42". It depends on what kind of glasses they are tho. I keep reading that active glasses are better so if it's a TV with a passive model, I am going to pass.

Which Panasonic did you go with? I'm considering the 65ST30 or VT30 myself. I like my Vizio LCD, but not sure about the 3D tv's. I've heard some good things about last years model of Vizio's through friends and online. Still, I'd probable go with the Panasonic for 3D

Panasonic VIERA TC-L32DT30 32-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV. There was nothing worthwhile at wal-mart (locally). No 3D tvs were left at all.

See? Seek and you shall find, even in the Great Frontier.
The Panasonic, or what brand?
(If they include the active glasses, you're set, but if it was just the clearance screen, the 3rd Generation Panasonic glasses are available online and some of the better designed ones on the market.)

Now comes the fun part, telling all your friends who ask, "No, all my TV is not in 3-D now, just some of the disks."

Default Nothing wrong with Passive 3D

We love our 47" LED LG Passive TV. The glasses are easy to wear and cheap to buy. Heck we even bring them home from the theatre the odd time we go. Most of the 3D movies we get are around the $15 - $16 price range. You just have to be a good shopper. Kungfu Panda 2 3D was $14. I am about to buy Narnia The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader 3D for $9.99 including shipping.

Amazon and Best Buy are major gougers and over-charge for all their 3D stuff.

It's a Panasonic, it did not come with glasses. How do I know the glasses I need to look for are 3rd generation (I've found a few models online that match the model #...
