Avatar 3D Blu-ray


That's right in case you haven't forgotten or have forgotten February 2012 is the last month Avatar 3D will be part of Panasonic Exclusive rights. So later on this year Fox will Bring out Avatar 3D for General Release (RUMOR)=>(POSSIBLE DATE IS NOVEMBER IN TIME FOR BLACK FRIDAY & MAY CONTAIN THE EXTENDED VERSION OF THE FILM). As For me I'm exited because I love the movie and I can't wait cause I want to see it in it's true 3d form instead of using my 3d upconverting blu-ray player.

That's great news indeed! I am not willing to pay e-bay prices for a BD that is just waiting for a general release eventually. It's like they are having an Avatar is going ITP (in to print, a term I just coined) sale..it's beyond ridiculous!!!


Off topic: what's your thoughts on 3d conversion done by the player? You ever play a 3d BD, then play the 2d being converted to 3d for a comparison? I am always curious as to how good "on the fly" conversions look.

Well the 3D Blu-ray Player I got is the BD-D6700 From Samsung & I love it better than my PS3 3D Playback huge difference, the upcoversion from 2D to 3D is good not great, but hey it's like converting 480i to 1080P close, but no cigar. Avatar was my first movie I saw through the upconverting process and what it did was that it brought the movie down to 720P to two screens and put them together to make it upconverted to 1080P 3D, still the picture was in HD, not full but I didn't complain it's awesome.

I like the one it's probably going to get, ie. the already packaged cover it's gotten all this time, since the ITP's are only reprints of the existing Exclusive edition.

Whats the differences between these exclusice rights movies, and slip, etc all this jazz?

I like cover number 5 up there. A lot of the art has focused on Neytiri, so using Jake for the rerelease would be good.

That said, it's about time they put this out. I couldn't justify paying $100 or more for it, so a reasonable priced release and a possible 3D release of the extended version would be welcome.

I got a copy of avatar in 3d. its a wonderful 3d movie. I have watched it many times. I got it free with the 2011 blu ray player.

I'd like it if they finally used this poster for the cover. Neytiri is not an Avatar, nor is she the main focus of the film, so I've never understood why a majority of the marketing has used her.

Man, I am so ready for this to come out general release. I'm not even a big Avatar fan so I never got the 2D version - but the immersion of 3D and it being reference audio will definitely have me wanting to experience it time and time again.
