May not have spent millions but the guy dropped alot of coin on this. Those HT chairs alone he got I'm guessing were somewhere around $6k-$8k.

Projector looks high end and that electronics rack looks audiophileicious.

Not sure I understand the small screen with the mechanized larger screen...why would he want two sizes?

Very pimp overall....thanks for sharing.

I agree about the projector with anamorphic lens, plus the rack is laid out well. Looks like he has an Onkyo pre-pro, Onkyo BDP, Toshiba HD DVD( or other player ), DVR, Xbox 360, lighting, ventilation, storage drawers, Rotel amps. You forgot about his room full of Dynaudio speakers.

He has one screen with side masking for a different aspect ratio. The first looks like 1.85:1 or 16:9. The second probably is 2.35:1, etc.

Same reason commercial theatres have the same thing. And, it isn't 2 screens. He has only 1 screen. The mechanized aspect you see in motion is actually masking drapes on either side of the screen being lifted into the ceiling. It's not another screen raising out of thin air over another smaller screen.

The reason for this is that, in complete darkness, any 1.85 aspect ratio content shown on a 2.35 aspect ratio surface will have glowing white bars on both sides of the image without that black masking there to absorb the light overspill. That can be just as annoying as seeing cellphone screens in a dark theatre during a presentation.

I've seen this before. I thought it was cool, but not something I'd want. I'd probably go with Keaton Batman Era over Bale, but still a lot of detail and effort was put in and it did turn out pretty awesome.

NOW THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!!!

POTC is more along the lines of my tastes than Batman. Of course, I'd ideally love a Fortress of Solitude HT, but that would create serious problems with light/sound refractions.
