Harry Potter Wizards Collection Blu-ray You save $150 if you preorder. It's only $349.99. No release date yet but I think my nephew will be getting my Potter blu rays when I treat myself to this massive beauty. Last edited by Deciazulado; 03-09-2012 at 05:50 AM. |

31 discs and how much of that is realistically fluff? Dont be dividing 31 discs so equally is all Im saying...
If out of those discs are DVD copies of the movies, that's not worth it. If Part of those 31 discs are digital copies. Thats really not worth it. What are they giving you that really makes up that price. So far its the box lol.... |

It's not crazy to balk at paying $350 for a set of blu-rays regardless of how many discs are included. It's a lot to spend at once. |

But that's the thing, you're not getting just the movies. You are getting HOURS upon HOURS of extras. That's a lot of bang for the buck, if you ask me.

18 Discs are stated to be movie discs so I calculate:
HP 1: 1 BD 2 DVD (TC and EC on one BD and on two DVD) HP 2: 1 BD 2 DVD (TC and EC on one BD and on two DVD) HP 3: 1 BD 1 DVD HP 4: 1 BD 1 DVD HP 5: 1 BD 1 DVD HP 6: 1 BD 1 DVD HP 7.1: 2 BD 1 DVD ( 2D and 3D on 1 BD each, 1 DVD just 2D) HP 7.2: 2 BD 1 DVD ( 2D and 3D on 1 BD each, 1 DVD just 2D) SUM up: 9 BD and 9 DVD = 18 Discs So 13 Discs for Extras. Amazon just stated 5 hours of never before seen special.. so it is not really worth of it, if someone allready owns the movies... |

So 5 hours of never before seen footage outside of what has already been released (Ultimate or regular editions) and a keepsake box.
What you can do is this, Take the average price per Ultimate edition (even though the last 2 are not released) since these are the most feature filled releases outside of this one. Say 35.00 per ultimate? Fair? 8 Editions (Im assuing the last part may be split into two editions like the regular set). 8 x 35 = 280.00 This set gives you the collectors box plus more extras for 359.00. I think I may end up swallowing my own foot here..... it's not sounding so bad lol.....if the math is sound. If you wanted all the ultimate editions all at once, then this is the set for you.....again if the above is right. Last edited by Caesu; 03-02-2012 at 09:33 PM. |

With that said, I do expect there to be a cheaper set without this special packaging. I expect it to be $199 or less. Hopefully they also have a set without the DVD's for a bit cheaper too (~$150) |

It's all the Ultimate editions plus more footage in a collectible keepsake box. UE 7.1 and 7.2 are likely part of this in terms of extras. Its a guess, but Im sure of it.
It's actually a reasonable price. I did the math above. It's just the whole lump sum at once that is making people gag. If I bought HP1 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP2 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP3 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP4 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP5 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP6 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. If I bought HP7.1 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. (though not released) If I bought HP7.2 UE: 35.00 then no one would say I got ripped off. (though not released) But in total I would have paid 280.00 overall and over time. This edition is 359.99 or 79.99 for more footage and what seems to be a really nice display case. What people here are gagging on then is 79.99 for 5 more hours of never before seen footage and a collectors wooden? box. 79.99 is the price at release as well, which will get lower over time too. It's not a bad deal at all considering a lot of goofballs out there got scalped and bought that Future Shop Exclusive Box for hundreds of dollars. :x Last edited by Caesu; 03-02-2012 at 09:38 PM. |

I'm interested, but I will only buy this if it includes:
- Every disc from the eventual 8 Ultimate Editions - Bonus content from Best Buy and Target Exclusive bonus discs for Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 (and any other bonus disc that may be out there) 3D versions (where applicable) would be nice, but they aren't completely necessary in my mind. I just want this to be a truly COMPLETE set, with every last bit of available bonus content. I want this to be the end-all be-all of Harry Potter sets. |
