Disney Preps 30-Plus Movies for First-Time Blu-ray Release
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release more than 30 catalog titles for the first time on Blu-ray Disc in 2012 the studio announced March 16, with some titles celebrating 10th, 15th and 20th anniversaries.

“We receive many requests and comments from consumers seeking specific titles they’d like to own on Blu-ray and, as such, we carefully selected a number of popular films that will satisfy demand from fans worldwide,” said Lori MacPherson, EVP of product management for The Walt Disney Studios. “As we grow our Blu-ray catalog we will continue to utilize the best technologies to provide the most pristine and immersive in-home experience of our films.”

This summer the studio will release Father of the Bride and Bringing Down the House releasing (May 15), The Color of Money, Cocktail and Ransom (June 5), Sister Act and Evita (June 19), and The Horse Whisperer, Under the Tuscan Sun, Phenomenon, Step Up, Home On The Range and Treasure Planet (July 3).

This fall will see Adventures in Babysitting, Grosse Pointe Blank, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, The Rescuers, High Fidelity, Ed Wood, Judge Dredd, Ghost of the Abyss 3D, Lady And The Tramp 2: Scamp’s Adventure, Pocahontas, The Tigger Movie, The Aristocats and Pete’s Dragon.

Beginning in October Disney will release Hocus Pocus, Arachnophobia, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, Son of Flubber, Cold Creek Manor, The Santa Clause Trilogy, The Absent-Minded Professor, Flubber, While You Were Sleeping, Sweet Home Alabama, Beaches, Babes in Toyland, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Brother Bear and Dick Tracy.
In for Sister Act and Horse Whisperer for the right price. Definitely in for Father of the Bride, Pocahontas, The Aristocats, Pete's Dragon, Hocus Pocus, Sweet Home Alabama, Babes in Toyland, Atlantis and Dick Tracy.

I'd say Romy & Michelle means they're scraping the bottom of the barrel, still think that may be the worst movie I've ever seen in theatres.

Oh yeah, I missed Pete's Dragon too and it was just recently remastered for DVD (which I own). This is turning out to be a great year for BD.

Disagreed. It's one of the few chick flicks that I would add to my collection.

In another thread you said you've "grown up" with Miley Cyrus, so when you saw this "R" rated film in theaters back in 1997 you were just a kid. You wouldn't understand.

I "grew up" with Kudrow and Sorvino and this movie is funny and touching. A "must buy" for me, and I can retire the old 4x3 letterbox DVD!

Treasure Planet and Tuscon Sun for me.
Lloyd C. Cramden: Flint, How do you find time to read all these books?
Derek Flint: No, no, no, sir, I wrote those.

Drokk yeah! Just in time for DREDD. I mean, yes Judge Dredd is one of the worst comic adaptions of all time, but wait... there is no but. Still want it though. For posterity.

Treasure Planet is a welcome surprise, the DVD does not upscale very well at all. I personally thought it was very cool. Now where is Atlantis: The Lost Empire?!

EDIT: Oh wait ATLANTIS IS RIGHT THERE! AWESOME.

Atlantis is coming, it was one of the 30 titles listed in a post in this thread, not sure how you missed it.

Pure soulless-marketing tie-in, but I still haven't rented it.

Bringing Down the House, Sister Act (double feature), Adventures in Babysitting, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Hocus Pocus, Sweet Home Alabama and Beaches!!!!

I can't wait!!! I wish they would have released the prequel to Romy and Michele though. Even though it wasn't as good as the first one, I enjoyed it. I doubt it would ever see its own BD release, or even a DVD release at that.

Cold Creek Manor might not have been that great of a movie, but if the price is right (or drops) I would be happy to pick it up.
