Default I wish they would release Beowulf in 3D

That's what started it all.

I agree it should be released, but it definitely didn't "start it all"

It might have started it for him. For me the latest go-round with 3D started in 2009 with Journey To The Center of the Earth. Before then the best experiences I had were with Imax features.

Strange that it hasn't been released, I got no interest in the Polar Express but would pick up Beowulf, oh wells!

True, but it still isn't the most important 3D film.

I've been seeing digital 3D films since Polar Express.

Sure, it's a great film (with awesome 3D), but Beowulf is my favourite Zemeckis CGI. And I missed it in theater's, so I'm also hanging out for this one. I've said before in another thread, there's a hole in my collection...

This was one of the few movies I actually went to go see twice in theaters. The previews didn't impress me before I first saw it, so I was happy when the movie kicked @ss. I'd see a sequel if they made it and I agree, this should be on Blu Ray 3D already. Paramount has it on Blu Ray, but the 3D in this one is definitely worth seeing. Awesome theme song too!! Robert Zemeckis was behind this one by the way.

PARAMOUNT: Bring out Beowulf in 2012 on Blu Ray 3D. Please.

Ray Winstone was awesome as Beowulf. Crispin Glover, Anthony Hopkins, John Malcovich, Angelina Jolie, etc... Great movie with one of the coolest dragon battles around. Nothing like the book I hear.

Total Lifetime Grosses BEOWULF 3D
Domestic: $82,280,579 41.9%
+ Foreign: $114,113,166 58.1%
= Worldwide: $196,393,745
Genre: Animation Runtime: 1 hrs. 53 min.
MPAA Rating: PG-13 Production Budget: $150 million (boxofficemojo.com)

Very nice surprise hit.

Actually it began with RR and Spy Kids 3D, the first non imax 3d movie to be shot in digital 3D while it only played in theatres in anagylph 3D it was actually the first feature to be shot in 3D digital. It was also the film that was test screened durring Reel D's intital testing phase at the chinese 6 in hollywood back in summer of 2005, along side clips from Polar Express 3D and converted scenes of Singing in the rain. Chicken Little was the first movie to be played in real d format commercially with 82 screens latter that year. Scar 3D came next in a limited release and ourney was the first mainstream live action real d release

Yeah, I checked out Spy Kids 3D anaglyph in the theaters when it first released, and was sorely disappointed by how bad it looked in 3D. I'm sure it had to do with the red/cyan colors competing with the real colors of the movie.

Beowulf 3D should hopefully be out by the end of the year on Blu Ray 3D, right Paramount?

That was an awesome little history lesson! I remember seeing Spy Kids 3D and was irritated by the red and blue tint during the whole film. So I was skeptical about beowulf. Fortunately, that movie changed my perspective on films! Im an avid 3D fan now and would jump on a preorder of this immediately

Question

I can't wait till Beowulf 3D hits Blu Ray 3D. They can release it in a limited 3D edition run (like Thor Limited Edition 3D) if they're apprehensive about sales, and once those sell out, print more. I'd be willing to pay $24.99 for it, and even $27.99, but would wait if they charged more than that. Make it affordable.

The characters in this one are well developed and interesting IMO. Visuals are top notch. Grendel, the "Hag", the sea Serpents, the Golden Dragon, great creatures that Beowulf battles.

I wonder what Paramount is waiting for... Hopefully soon. As in 2012.
