Default Why watch BATTLESHIP, when you can watch AMERICAN BATTLESHIP...

With Carl Weathers and Mario Van Peebles...

Oh this looks all kinds of awesome

Directed by a man whose first name is "Thunder"

A bald Carl Weathers whose name is Capt. McKraken (The Kraken - geddit?)

Featuring Mario's son who's called "Mandella Van Peebles"

And Mario himself looking an alien ship in the eye and saying Robert Shaw style "we'd better fire the big guns"

Cannot wait for this to hit a late night cable channel near me!!

Thanks for posting
Now I've got They Live! on blu, I really need Deep Rising...

So, what's sadder:
Asylum doing a pre-emptive Battleship knockoff, or Asylum actually believing Battleship will be WORTH doing a pre-emptive knockoff of?

(But they've also got both Snow White movies covered too, just in case.
Yeah, it public domain, but then, so is the word "Battleship".)

Why not save your time and not watch either one?

But it is true that these movies are fun to watch, they have a lot of moments, even if they never wanted to have these moments in the first place.

My avatar will Wait Until Dark for a Roman Holiday since this world as War & Peace
and it would be fun to actually have Breakfast At Tiffany's with My Fair Lady

Thats the deal - if you can go into these films with your Mystery Science Thater 3000 cap on then they can be worth wasting a couple hours on. Anyone trying to take them seriously in any way whatsoever need to find a new hobby and potentially just take their own life for the good of mankind.

I plan on renting both BDs and as usual I'll judge from there. Let's hope it's not the Battle: Los Angeles vs. The Battle of Los Angeles debacle. I watched 10 minutes of the later and cut it off.

Asylum Home Entertaiment makes great covers!!! I have one, Dragon Crusaders (never saw it) and the trailer looks nothing like the cover!!!

They are the Rip-off masters, and sometimes, I wonder if they have movies worth watching: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?studioid=279

This may well be one of those cases where the Asylum's film is the superior one. I'm stoked.

I'm not sure of the logic of the slogan. Aren't big guns likely to be modern weapons? So, they're using older but bigger guns to fight the aliens?
