I'm still trying to make my mind up.. I know i'd be losing both bonus feature disc's for Iron Man 1 & 2. Which i'm fine with... I guess my problem is not knowing how much I can get for what I have.. maybe one of you can help.

Iron Man Ultimate 2-Disk Edition w/slip
Iron Man 2 Target Metalbox
Incredible Hulk 1-Disk
Thor w/slip (non 3D)
Captain America w/Slip (non-3D)

I live in CANADA so please keep that in mind when trying to figure out a price.. Thanks. Man September 25 is just pure insanity. This, Bond, Hitchcock.. a bunch of stuff that has yet to be annonced.. sheesh!
Fascinating... - Spock

There's ALWAYS money in the Banana Stand! - George Bluth

Son of a bit*h, I'm sick of these dolphins. - Steve Zissou

Wow, from that pic it almost looks like the disc cases could have spindles?

Personally, especially given that importing to the UK means I'm paying an extra $40 on top of the current $140 - the leaked details have pushed me into preordering this. I know you can chop and change preorders with Amazon easily but Im trying to plan what I am buying for Q4 (as there is so much coming out!) so I base new preorders on what my current "list" is.

I think Amazon will put the price back up once they officialy unveil it, as $140 is a steal. Currently, in the UK, to get these films (if you count in Avengers 3D preorder) would cost around $150 (3d versions of thor and Cap are quite expensive) so this set, at that price.... awesome.
Preordered: * *Les Miserables 13/05 * Finding Nemo 3D 27/05 * Wreck It Ralph 3D 03/06 * Zero Dark Thirty 10/06 * Lilo & Stitch / Stitch Has A Glitch USA 02/06 * Atlantis / Milos Return USA 02/06 * Emperors New Groove / Crappy Sequel USA 02/06 * Lincoln 03/06 * Hansel and Gretel 23/06* Oz 01/07 * Spring Breakers 12/08 * Little Mermaid 3D USA TBA * Once Season 2 TBA *

i definitely wouldn't be getting rid of the 2-disc versions of "Iron Man" (if i actually owned either of them, that is) since i'm pretty sure that this set won't contain ALL of the features from those discs. the only movie i already own from this set is "Incredible Hulk" & i think i'll be keeping that just because of the cool green case it's in...

Really? I don't see that. Looks to me like it will open up to the disc(either with a slit in the cardboard, or a plastic disc holder). If it had spindles, it should have additional pages, and I just don't see it.

The thing I'm worried about is closing the set onto the disc holders, crushing/bending them. Doesn't it look like the cases could sit out too much if you didn't put them in just right.

[Show spoiler]Feels like I'm nitpicking a little. I'm buying this no matter what

It's possible they only angled them that way for display purposes and they may actually lie flat normally

I am not (or I was not, now I probably am) a huge super-hero movie fan, but this is what I have + ordered:

- Avengers Phase 1 complete steelbook collection (Play.com Iron Man & Iron Man 2 steelbook exclusives will be released in August + Avengers Assemble HMV exclusive steelbook + Avengers 3D German exclusive steelbook).

- Pre-ordered this awesome set.

- I received my German ''Thor 3D Steelbook Helmet Set'' today.

- Pre-ordered the German exclusive ''Amazing Spiderman'' with Spiderman figure.

- I have bought 2 extra Thor steelbook copies.

- Bought the Best Buy Exclusive Betman Begins & The Dark Knight steelbooks.

This is getting out of hand!!!!
I AM SUSPENDED FOR 1 WEEK, PLS DON'T PANIC IF YOU TRADED SOMETHING WITH ME, I CAN'T RESPOND TO YOUR PM'S UNTIL TOMORROW!

''I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas, sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-b!tches.''

I'm probably overanalyzing this set as well, but if you look at the disc cases as they are stored in the briefcase, they appear to have 2 fold(like for spindles) vs. 1 fold(like for slip sleeves).

Like you, definitely not a deal breaker for me! In fact I can't wait to get this set so I can book a flight to anywhere just so I can carry this with me!

This is a little rough, but I made a comic-style collage out of the images. Wasn't sure how I should place them but I think it looks alright

That basic design was already on the art site I posted, with the images just rearranged:

haha, wow so weird that I did mine almost the same way without seeing that. I tried to get rid of all the marvel.com watermarks too, but at the expense of some cropping. Hopefully we get some high res images without the watermarks one day.

Damn, that pic looks nice.

I want that briefcase and all the contents inside. But I already have all the movies plus I'm planning to get the extra disc with the Target version of Avengers. Even though I'm a sucker for packaging, I just can't justify spending this much for it.

I would have liked more, however I just want them off my shelf so I can get this set. The longer they sit on my shelf the less I feel I should buy this Limited Edition Avengers set.

Amazon changes their trade-in credit amount very often, so keep an eye out. However it is doubtful you'll get anything more the longer you wait.
why... that is like half of what you'd get on ebay or here

This is a very nice looking set, but for me, I think all of the memorabilia is just stuff that will end up collecting dust, so it comes down to price per movie, which is just way too high at the current price. I'll probably go ahead and pre-order though, since I can always cancel.

I really like the cover art. I'm surprised they went with something so classy. I wish they would do a standard box set (like the one they're releasing in the UK), but with this cover art. Since something like that would likely be priced more reasonably, I'd probably get that in a heartbeat.

It's 139 today on amazon when I pre ordered it last week it was 159. But with amazon if you pre order and the price drops you are guaranteed the lowest price supposedly.

So i would just pre order it now since they don't charge til it is shipped and that way you have time to save up money to get it and if the price goes back up you will still get it for 139 if you pre ordered.
