Synopsis
In this action-packed mystery thriller, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, Whip is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane? Director: Robert Zemeckis Cast: Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Melissa Leo Writers: John Gatins http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/flight/ http://www.paramount.com/flight/mobile.html

Saw the trailer for this with Prometheus today. It looks interesting, but it will probably be a video checkout for me. Unless, that is, they come out with a better preview. The tone for this, especially with the music selection, just seemed odd. Is it a thriller? Is it a drama? Is it some kind of dramedy? Is their going to be some kind of supernatural element at play (that may be stretching, I know)? I like Denzel alright, and Zemeckis is a fine director and this will no doubt have cinephiles salivating for his return to the land of live-action filmmaking after too long away, but I will have to see more of this to truly gauge my interest.

And I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. Which is really cool, I need a film like that again with it's balance of humor and then a pretty straight up drama at the end with a star studded cast and Denzel back in dramas is awesome. He was just wasting his talents away in terribly written action movies even though his acting is top notch still and I have a feeling Denzel will probably be one of the best actor contenders of this year, seeing how this role is far from Denzel being his tough guy self. |

Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and things with... molecular structures

I expect it to be fairly good, that is, if the film is more concerned about the conflict of being hailed a hero, it's basically about the dude that landed the airplane near the Hudson a few years ago, right?
Anyways, I'm sorry but me and my buddies were laughing when Denzel was flying the plane backwards, they really should have left that out of the trailer.

I love Denzel so this movie will automatically good. I've hardly ever seen a Denzel movie that wasn't at least good. Seen the trailer a while back and it does look really good.
