:sigh: Walmart and their triple features. Nice to see their doing a bluray one for a change. At least I can get these without having to repurchase tmnt, even though it was free with my laptop

Yep, my local store had about ten copies of it, when I stopped by a few days ago. They also had other triple packs, but the only other "total franchise" set i saw was Ocean's 11, 12, and 13.

Any chance of this ever getting a general release?

I'm in the UK and I'd been waiting for these in a cheaper/non pizza box release, but there's no way of importing in store exclusives.

In terms of picture quality, I'd give the second and third films a solid 4/5, with the first about a half point lower. The worst scene in the original is when Splinter tells Danny about his past; there's a lot of noise in the flashbacks. I contacted the on-site reviwer here for the 2009 set, and he said it's the same on that disc as well.

Yes, as it's always been, on my VHS, my Laserdisc, my DVD. It's part of the source, but I wonder why those particular shots are so bad? Looks like they were shot under difficult lighting conditions, but that shouldn't apply to studio work like that. Maybe it's due to optical processing, fades etc?

Well, I noticed it a little on the DVD version, but I guess HD brings out every trace of it. With all the tech-savvy stuff possible now, you'd think they'd go in and at least reduce the amount of it. I wonder if it was that way in the theatrical release; I don't remember.

Was able to find a copy the other day. I spent a good 10 minutes roaming the electronics dept trying to find it only to find out they had a special display of all the triple features near the photo section.

I like the grainy look of the first film. I would have to say the grainiest part of the film would be when the Turtles April and Casey find Danny in there hideout. That whole part up to where Casey follows Danny to the foot clans hideout.

I wasn't talking about grain, but distorted noise. That one scene with Splinter & Danny has quite a bit of it.
