I'm so excited for Dave, I pre-ordered it with Prime months ago so hopefully it comes in tomorrow!

I pre-ordered Dave and Amazon shipped it today (arriving tomorrow via OnTrac, which always gets me my orders in one business day). Hopefully, Dave got a good transfer & encode. I'm sure it will look better than the DVD but I'm hoping Warner did a better job on Dave than it apparently did with The American President (that one got a pretty mediocre review on another site).

Time will tell!

I'm glad to finally be getting 'The American President' on blu! One of my favorite movies, I've been really looking forward to getting this one in high def. Michael Douglas, Martin Sheen, and Michael J. Fox are all excellent in it.

Haha same here. I'll grab Dave when it's $7.99 at Fry's...so it shouldn't be a long wait.

Got Dave, PQ is actually pretty good, but I didn't realize this movie will forever be stuck in stereo, it's DTS but I don't even think it's lossless... But at least it's pretty looking!

Audio:
The soundtrack comes in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo, which is about all the movie requires, given that it's mostly dialogue, with a little light background music. The audio does its job with a quiet efficiency.

Personally, my wife and I plan to watch TAP tonight before bed. It's one of our favorites.

We also got Dave and will get to it as soon as we can.

Picked up Dave today at Walmart but they didn't have any copies of The American President. Dave looks really good though, one of Warner's better looking catalogue titles. Didn't notice any aggressive teal which they are notorious for. Seems very true to the source, buy with confidence

TAP looked quite good to my wife and I. It's not a great transfer, but it's still quite good.

Of the two reviews, a 3 and a 3.5, it's easily closer to the 3.5 and the dvdtalk reviewer who gave that score really seemed to like it.

Unless you have a giant screen, unreasonable expectations or are really picky, you will be quite happy to pick this one up.

And not to mention, it's a damned good movie.

I am going to hunt for it after work. Where did you pick it up?

That's what I thought, but for some reason my player was only telling me DTS, when it tells me DTS-HD MA on other titles. At least it's lossless!

I didn't. Amazon delivered it to me.

Well worth it.

Could not find The American President in stores (Wal Mart, Target, Best Buy) so going to place an order through Amazon.

Doesn't make sense to not have this and Dave in stores right now with a Presidential election about to commence.

The American President was the first DVD I bought wayyyyy back when it first came out (1998?). I cannot wait to see it in HD (that DVD is so bad haha). Definitely one of the favourites.

The video for The American President is top notch, an excellent high def transfer. Audio is also excellent.

"The West Wing" fans will be delighted to see a few familiar faces here, including Martin Sheen and Joshua Malina.

There are no extras, except for a trailer.

Highly recommended for people who love terrific writing.

I second everything except for the West Wing remark. I've never seen the show. Now I wish Dave would hurry up and drop!

I just purchased The American President on Blu-ray, and I'm really pissed off - the sync is off by a lot (by my estimation about 3 frames). The picture is actually AHEAD - so delaying the sound will not help. Someone at Warners was asleep at the switch. I'm so disappointed, as I doubt if there will be a re-master anytime soon.
