This is a BAC release. Can anyone make an educated guess as to whether it will have forced subs?

Is anyone planning on reviewing this near to release? I'm wondering whether to risk a pre-order or not.

We will have a review. However, more than likely we won't be able to get it live before the release date. It should be up shortly after the release date.

I am absolutely going to be picking this up. I saw it on the big screen when it first came out and personally think it is Bernardo Bertolucci's most beautiful and moving film.

I'm itching to pull the trigger on this one but fears of forced subtitles and Univisium are holding me back. Any info anyone has would be much appreciated!

I just got the disc.
The subtitles are forced...for those who have no way to circumvent this problem ;-)

I took a quick glance at the picture. Looks quite good to my eyes. Stunning detail in some shots.

Bum. But thank you.

Someone did mention that the French PIRATES could be viewed without subtitles as long as you didn't choose the Version Originale but went to the French dub and then chose another audio track. I don't suppose that works here?

I've no idea how to circumvent subtitles. Is it illegal in some way?

I tried starting the disc with french language and changing the audio on the fly. It doesn't work.

BTW does anybody know if there are scenes in the movie where people talk a foreign language and which are subtitled in english?

I just received the mail. Unfortunately, instead of a Blu-ray I have a DVD release. It is going straight back to France.

There are no such scenes. Everything you ought to hear is in English.

That must be an awful feeling, especially with those international orders.
